Beat me to it. Oh well, there's still this: Lazytown
- Chainsaw is over powered. It seems like you cannot stop it ever. Completely untrue, there are is a vast amount of different tactics to stop a chainsaw. First off, of course if they come from behind, you're dead, you'd be dead with any gun, however when they come at you roll back, wall-bounce out of the way, lancer and backpedal just to name a few.
- Shotgun seems to be very underpowered at times. Again, something completely untrue. Epic changed a few things but in no way did they remove damage from the gun. Epic removed the random dmg (Gears1 vets know what I"m talking about) of the first game and decreased the firing rate, they did not tamper with anything else. Unlike the original Gears of War, you now HAVE to pull up the sights and shoot, blindfiring is almost impossible when you're not host, and when you are host, the shotgun is practically the same gun. Two-piecing, and one-shot active downs are still as effective as ever.
- Tagging gernades on walls seems to be a little cheap. I will agree with you on one ocassion, when you have already used up your grenades/explosives and they haven't respawned on the map. Otherwise, take your time when you're running around. Gears 2 is not a fast-paced shooter like the second. You need to be careful, otherwise you WILL die.
- Smoke gernades should not knock down an enemy for 3 second, maybe stunning them for a second would be better but three just seems way to long. Smoke grenades are perfect the way they are. It is quite easy to dodge an incoming smoke grenade, wall-bouncing, evasive rolls and roadie running are perfectly acceptable maneuvers when trying to escape the blast radius of a smoke grenade explosion. With that being said, if it's 5v1, 5v2 and they all throw smokes, you're dead. But more likely than not, you'd be dead anyways.
- Some maps that have the rotating weapons each round seem 1 sided for a team. Don't know what you're talking about. Most maps are symmetrical and when they're not, you change spawn locations every round.
- Multiplayer seems slow and clunky compared to gears 1. This is an obvious statement and I don't understand the point you're trying to make. Gears of War 1 evolved into a game different from what Epic had envisioned, the fast-paced shotgun battles of the original are gone in the sequel. The game is supposed to be a slow, tactically paced game. However, game mechanics have improved, roadie-running feels better, you no longer get stuck on random cover and the ability to "air-bounce (stop the action of sliding into cover/swat-turning/etc.)" has made the core game much more fluid and responsive.
- sniper seems a little underpowered maybe i am just used to active reload always downing. Most people, myself included, did not appreciate the one-shot downs of old. The sniper was meant for headshots, not the random-blindfire garbage from the first game. Besides, now that the game on a decent connection has virtually zero bullet delay, you should be going for those aforementioned headshots as opposed to trying to down an enemy.
- You cannot quit out of a match. I semi-agree with you on this.I have only had one game where I have been required to quit out of a match, and that was a game in which it was all European people and myself. There were far too many people that quit in the first Gears and Epic decided to take out the option of quitting out of a match because of this. I know it's stupid because you can just quit to the dashboard, but with the improvements made in the netcode/matchmaking, you should not be needing to quit in the first place. Just because you have to play a gametype which you may not like, is no excuse for you to quit. Suck it up and play, not only do you have the chance to improve your skills, the said gametype may grow on you.

to get your multiplayer fragging fix, obviously GOW2 has horrendous server problems and is completely unplayable (for now). So anyone else having thoughts about getting COD5? Me, I might just transition back to Team Fortress 2, especially if they bring the new maps and weapons over to 360 that are already available in the PC version.imperial_agent
How is Gow2's multiplayer broken and completely unplayable? Personally, I have not had one server problem since the game came out, matchmaking takes under a minute, 2 max, and the game is a vast improvement in terms of gameplay mechanics.
I for one did not enjoy the WaW beta at all. It was the exact same thing as CoD4 with a different "paint job."
