Are there any good [free] MMORPGs that focus more on plot development and narrative rather than level-up and hack/slash?

Hello everyone. I'm 21 and new on this forum.

I'm basically looking for some new games to try out!

I used to play many games in the past but quit the gaming scene...
The last "contemporary" games I played were C&C: Tiberian Sun and Final Fantasy.
My favorite genres are strategy and roleplaying-narrative-games
(that is, roleplaying games with lot of adventure, intricate plots, stories, and not much levelling up, hack/slash, etc.)

I was wondering whether there are any good games
(especially - but not only - from the genres I mentioned above),
which have a strong interaction with the environment, for example:
- where you can burn trees and thereby also cause enemies who are inside it to burn,
- where you can place bombs in buildings or mountains and thereby cause rockslides...

where you can basically freely interact with nature, buildings, terrain and everything that's surrounding you.

I'd appreciate if you could help me and mention some good games that have such features.

Thanks a lot in advance. :)
