Okay, I will definitely check out that link. Thanx again.

And by the way, I don't even know what overclocking is. But more than likely I won't have any need for it. I just want a system that doesn't freeze while I'm playing games and multitasking, and one that can play any game I want.

But thanx for the link and info.

Man, you have no idea how valuable this info is. I can't say that enough...

Okay, the reason why I am so stuck on the whole liquid cooling system idea is because of all the locking up and freezing that this laptop has done over the years. It has driven me nuts to the point of not even knowing what else to do but to go out and spend as much as possible to put something together that won't freeze at all. I guess everything always comes back to me hearing about that $4000 price tag.

Okay, I don't think I said this already, but let me run down what I do when I'm on my computer...

I'm not sure what the heaviest thing is that I do. I mean, yes, I play some games that put a choke hold on my system because they require so damn much, but then there's the video editing stuff I do (Sony Vegas, Handbrake, ConvertXToDVD, Freemake Video Converter, CyberLink PowerDirector 14 64Bit). If I'm doing anything while video editing or converting, the laptop freezes. The same goes for the games I play, although there are times where I get lucky and it allows me to play a game until I'm done with it for the day, but the temperature of my system feels like freaking HELL when I touch it. Other than that, I do a lot of downloading, which requires nothing but a good internet connection.

Still and all, I feel the need to have really powerful graphic card or video card or whatever, and a cooling system that keeps it damn near frost bitten because I am sick to DEATH of the freezing and not being able to play a freaking game anymore unless I'm lucky. But what you said about the liquid cooling worries me. I had no idea it was that bad. I've always heard how good it is...never anything about its flaws. I guess me being a newbie to this stuff is pretty obvious, huh?

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 445M graphics card, with a Core i7. Not sure if that means anything, but I hope it paints a better picture. I've had it since about 2010, and this thing has been running really strong this entire time. To be honest, this thing could still go on for years the way it is if I just wanted to keep things really basic and not that heavy. But like I said, it's when I try to play some games that it freezes. Games like NBA 2K will run really slow unless I totally knock down the display settings, but even then it still runs slow. I don't require much, and I damn sure don't know what the hell a 4K is, if I need it, or even what it's for. I just want to put together something that can run with the best systems as far as performance with games that require a lot and won't throw a fit when I try to multitask.

If you have any suggestions, believe me, they'll be greatly appreciated.

Dude are you serious!?! The person who told me about the $4000 price tag seemed pretty adamant about it. And since I don't know a single thing about putting together my own gaming computer I just believed everything they said and assumed that it would take at least that much for me to put together something that satisfies what I normally do.

Okay, let me start by painting a better picture of what I know and require...

First off, I am in no way a heavy gamer like the typical (or maybe fictional) ones you see on TV that have all the headsets and hookups and things. but I DO require something pretty damn powerful to make it so I can play ANYTHING on the market, because I'm sick to death of my laptop overheating and freezing (sometimes without even overheating) on me 9 times out of 10 whenever I try to play certain games. It even freezes when I am trying to convert videos and I have maybe a web browser open at the same time. So that's why I assume I need something that can overpower whatever requirements the most punishing games may have.

I heard about that liquid cooling thing a few years back and I'm wondering if that would be the best bet to remedy the constant overheating. I was also told that a laptop is the worst thing for gaming and doing all that I like to do. That a desktop is my best bet. So that's what I wanna put together. But everything came back to that $4000 price tag. One thing is for sure though...that liquid cooling system is a must! I've had my fill of freezing and lockups forcing me to reboot. Now, I'm sure the graphic cards can be switched out as time goes by so that I can upgrade to something better after a while, so that shouldn't be that big a deal. But I need something really powerful that's gonna last me at least 7 years, because I REFUSE to buy another PC after this. If building one from scratch goes well, I am assuming I could keep the same rig permanently and just switch out the aging parts. Am I right?

Please help me with this. You have no idea how valuable your info is right now, especially seeing as NOBODY wants to help me with this.

I also don't care much for VR, but I want build my own rig like you did. I just have no knowledge on doing it. What I do know is that I want to build something that is gonna last me AT LEAST 7 to 10 years, meaning I could run any game without having it lock and freeze on my like my laptop does now.

Okay, I'm getting long winded here....I guess what I'm asking is how much did yours cost to build? Someone told me it should cost me about $4,000 to build one.

Any help?

This is such a freaking lazy cop out...."we're too lazy to add anything IN-GAME that would make sense and bridge any gaps...SO READ ABOUT IT"....

I love the Mass Effect series and everything, but this really sours it for me, personally.
