[QUOTE="Harbadakus"][QUOTE="cobrax75"][QUOTE="Harbadakus"]I think it could run it, lots of tweaking of course, the huge environments wouldn't be a problem(remember Just Cause?) encounters might need to be scaled back. Gameplay would still be intact. cobrax75
the enviroment in Crysis is much much more detailed and complex than in Just Cause.
this same thing happened to Farcry...when they ported it..they had to make it into a linnear shooter.
As I said, encounters could be scaled back, I guess amount of trees destroyable at a time would be reduced, too other that that, what else would need to change? for mass amounts of foliage the lod system could be changed, so trees and such would become sprites closer. It wouldn't go linear, the demo on low/medium only uses 800mb, so Crytec could get 512 running it ok.thats 800 MB of system ram, thats not including video Ram...
the consoles have 512 MB of system+GPU....
your just not gonna get that to fit right...and just like with farcry...the size of the level will have to be scaled back consistantly...
Crytek has stated this themselves.
Oh, I thought the ram amount shown in the corner of the editor was for both. Nevermind then.
