@AliRboy Well besides the fact that i'd rather play it on a nicer system, my PS3 hasn't read bluray disks for over a year.

@bunchanumbers My day one PS3 is still working. I gave it to my parents for a bluray player. My new slim? Broke about 1 year after I got it. I think 1st gen is fine!

Darkspore was an amazing game - I dumped tons of time into the game. The fact that they abandoned it is really sad. Beyond sad, it (as others have said to) is a perfect example of why "always online" is a bad thing. This great game is basically gone forever, because they have quit supporting it. Shame.

How much confidence should people have in a system that totally changes its fundamental functions5 months before launch?

Good news, I already preordered a PS4, but now I can go back to plan A and get both systems.
