@gamespotgunners it seems watch dogs will be launching first on next gen consoles since the ps4 also launches before the game and its still slated for a day one release.

Microsoft have to launch across all 13 markets at once. There's no argument to be had there. if they don't they are just making it worse for themselves. + it would give them a 2 week advantage over the ps4 in europe.

But microsoft was also either naive or stupid to think people would just accept such a drastic change, specially on a new $500 piece of hardware when people could just get something that works as they expect for less.

Would it be a bad thing or the best thing to happen to the games industry? we wont know that for a while.

I think as we stand now it was more of a downside, but a fully connected, digital distribution future is something we have to face eventually. I reckon both Sony and Microsoft will had a fully digital (no disk drive) SKU of their respective consoles before next gen runs its course, however long that will take.
