@weetbix23 You're a genius. I completely forgot about Dark Cloud but that was a phenomenal series (well, two games).

I always preferred the combat in the second and the city building and weapon levelling-up in the first. Would like it if the third combined the two.

@rasterror Well ... personally I want Bloodborne because the Souls series are some of the few games of this generation I've actually loved. But there's room for both

Although if they do revive Jak & Daxter, they need to make it like the first game. I got the HD collection a couple of years ago and stopped playing Jak 2 very quickly and it is honestly one of my most-hated games. Changing a fun, happy-go-lucky game and character into a "gritty" GTA clone with a bland main character is not my cup of tea. Didn't even bother with Jak 3 after that.

@RicanV That's true. And in spite of Activision's claims that they're interested in reviving Crash, they haven't done anything with the license for years.

Plus, from a personal standpoint, it's not really Crash unless Naughty Dog make the games. To say I disliked Crash Bash and The Wrath Of Cortex would be an understatement.

"Andrew House told The Telegraph when asked if we’ll ever see Sony revive Crash Bandicoot or Spyro the Dragon. “We've started to say that maybe there isn't anything wrong with going back and looking at characters that people still talk about, that were a big part of either their childhood or their youth"

You've started to say that? As in "we just realised"?

I came to this article to kind of make a snarky "Crash Bandicoot! Oh wait ..." comment but after reading this, I facepalmed. I don't think there's a Sony fan who is old enough to have owned a PS1 who wouldn't have been able to tell Sony this for the last 15+ years.

Activision are most certainly jerks with regards to the license though. Not only have they not allowed the license for the Naughty Dog fan art contest but they didn't allow the character to appear in Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale either (which may have actually been enough to encourage me to buy that game).

Speaking of which, if Sony were to bring back Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil, it wouldn't be the worst thing.

@deliciouspoints Pardon me but violent crime has actually dropped in the last twenty years (since around the same time that Mortal Kombat 1 was released). You can check out that statistics here:

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/table-1

You know, this isn't exactly difficult stuff to find ...

You know what's frustrating about this? How much Sony dropped the ball with Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. I've always been a PS gamer and it amazes me that Nintendo scoop up every single icon -- and I don't just mean characters that we, as gamers, find iconic but that the non-gaming public find iconic -- while Sony couldn't even get one Crash Bandicoot and their "brawler" genre game was just a marketing ploy for a bunch of PS3 releases at the time.
