Its sad that so many people think Rockstar= GTA. Its kind of limiting where the company can go. They attempt to come out with a new style of came, and receive all this instant backlash because it isn't there old game. Its a shame really. I wonder if they will ever shake that.
Oblivion. I would travel through one of those portals into the depths of Oblivion, just to retrieve this game to play it again. Infinite amount of dungeon crawls and replay value. Also, all of the continuations of the Secret of Mana (sword of mana, dawn of mana, etc) and Shining Force (neo and what not) series. A lot of people were really disappointed by how the studios elected to continue these series's, but I still appreciated it and had a lot of fun hacking and slashing my way through difficulty. They are not as classic as the originals, but it was nice to see a continuation that still had enjoyable play throughs.
Hands down SNES. To me it solidified what RPG's should be, and set a standard of quality (music, game play, originality, story) that was unprecedented in this genre of games. This is mainly because I'm an RPG fan, I'm sure if I was a fan of some other genre my console preference may be different. Yeah, a lot of my favorite RPGs are for other systems, but I don't believe they would be of the quality they are without Nintendo setting the gold standard on this one. Also Rock N' Roll Racing Rules.
Although if people are, like you say, rapidly getting rid of their PS3's, what does that mean for PSN when it comes back online? Will the gameplay be better, as less users are trying to use the system, or will it be worse as we are stuck in lobby due to lack of players? Either way, it should be interesting to see how sony comes back from this ordeal.
