@joshrmeyer: The non-b/c model of Wii was released much much much later. I want to say it was like 7 years in or something like that, too lazy to look it up. But it was surprising they would even release a new model since the fad had already ended by the time it rolled around. Though I think they released them in neat colors.

@CyberEarth: PS TV isn't a good product. You can't even use Netflix on it, it's media aspect is extremely limited and far inferior to all tv boxes [Apple TV and the like]. What's the point of playing a fraction of the games the actual PS Vita does [and even the Vita doesn't play every game it should be able to; meaning PSone Classics and PSP games on the PS Store for PSP].

Go figure a paired back brick of a failed handheld didn't turn out well.

And btw, PS TV still used cartridges. It has the slot for them. So it's not a digital system. PSP Go was all digital, but Sony knew that was a long shot and it was just a test for the market. [likely to figure out whether their next handheld would take physical media or not]

@drizzygadget: Home Soundtrack, Ingrid Michaelson "It Doesn't Have To Make Sense". They got here yesterday from amazon. As did some DVDs, and we buy tons of movies on bluray [including 4K bluray].

Just because you don't use something, doesn't mean others don't. Giving the option to consumers for how they consume media is a good thing. Yet people are actively defending Sony in this, for taking away options.

Streaming 4K is not the same quality as playing a 4K Bluray.

@Andy639_basic and? Just because it's on PS4 doesn't mean it has to have "super gameplay".

You could dumb down most, if not all, next gen games and put them on the PS3/360/PC of equal power to them. I mean, Killzone: Shadow Fall is still a FPS. And obviously they work on PS3. Project Spark could work just fine this gen. inFamous: Second Son could be dumbed down for PS3 if they wanted.

Sure they wouldn't visually look as good, but like you said they don't need it! Dumb down the graphics enough and you could probably keep the scope of a lot of them as well.

@yeah_28 @Saketume People's concept of next gen is dumb. People were calling Knack something that could be done (visually) on PS3. This article is explaining why that is false. Particle effects alone would have been enough to point that obvious fact out. But people are dumb. Especially in regards to games like this, with heavily artistic visuals.

I remember people saying Killzone: Shadow Fall looked no better than current gen too. loltrolls

And gameplay isn't going to drastically change going into next generation. An FPS is still going to be an FPS. It's not going to become a dating sim. (now there's a hybrid that would be weird!)

Gameplay is going to be gameplay. As it always has been. I don't know what people want from next generation gameplay. And you clearly don't either, since you give no examples of what you want. And probably won't reply with any either. Because you can't think of any. Just as I can't.

A genre is a genre. You can tweak it all you want, but the core is still the same.

We're at a point where new genres of gameplay are not likely.

@Saketume @riseagainst976 Knack has been getting tons of hate. It's the go to "LOL" for other system fanboys (mostly Xbox One that I've seen).

They basically go, "Enjoy Knack and shitty indie gaymz lololololololol" *eye roll*

It's old.

@DJ-Wolfman09 So if you've had Gold for all those years, and paid for it directly from microsoft... it wasn't really cheaper to buy a 360. Even if you got it discounted, add it all up. And it probably wasn't cheaper in the long run.The 360 had tons of hidden costs. The PS3 didn't, well, except the HDMI cable (dumb) and no mic (which is a good thing based on all the shit talking on XBL). 360 needs you to buy rechargable battery packs, Gold to play online and access SUBSCRIPTION based apps like Netflix (bullshit and a half), wifi adapter (granted this can be optional), propriety harddrives...But consumers rarely think long term. Charge them over $1000 slowly and they'll gladly pay it, rather than pay $500 up front. As an example.

@AtheistPreacher @AceCometh You pay, therefore it's better.A lot of consumers get into this mindset. That's the only logical explanation for those sorts of accusations. They probably pay $30 or more for HDMI cables too.

@AtheistPreacher @Atheosis Well duh, it's better because you PAY! I mean, it would have to be. Otherwise what's all this money going to?

@BrYaNq93 Releasing a console they know has design flaws that overheat and kill their system isn't a bad thing? Because that's exactly what they did. They knew the 360 would fail (hardware wise), but they pushed it out anyway to be first. And you people ate it up anyway, and you still do. And you actually defend paying them for things that consumers should be getting for free. Nintendo or Sony doing the same thing would never get away with it, but for some reason MS is like the Apple of consoles. Can do no wrong.
