Hi guys,

So I have two displays on a brand new rig (relevant specs below), a 21.5" Acer S220HQLBrbd Full HD LED and a 27" Viewsonic VX2703 Full HD LED. The 21.5" is connected via DVI and the 27" is connected via HDMI. Both are running on 1920x1080.

This is the problem: when I open a video in full screen on the 27" it is very choppy. Viewing it in windowed mode makes it a bit better but still not acceptable. It's the same if I use VLC, Windows Media Player or DivX player and it's the same regardless of file quality/type (mkv/avi/mp4 at HDTV/720p/1080p doesn't make a difference). Also, it works absolutely fine on the 21.5".

The only way I manage to watch full screen HD movies properly on the 27" is by doing one of these:

- Turn off dual display and show only on the 27" (which defeats the purpose of having two monitors)
- Lowering the resolution of the 27" to 1280x720 or below (defeating the purpose of watching a 1080p movie)

I updated my nvidia drivers and checked GPU load when I'm running an HD movie and its only around 20% and the CPU load barely changes (rightly so). Also when playing recent games at ultra high quality (eg Far Cry 3) it isn't choppy at all. Only HD movies on the 27" when in dual screen mode.

Can you please help me to at least isolate the area of the problem? Thanks!!

- Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
- Running the files off a Western Digital 1TB Black 7200rpm

I bought Guild Wars Prophecies original. Right now i have a bad PC which I am gonna upgrade next week. Is it possible to install GW on my bro's laptop until my PC is upgraded, and then install it on my PC also? It's just that i cant wait to play it.
