[QUOTE="GenBen666"]I have a HDMI to DVI cord.

I plug the HDMI end into my ps3.

I plug the DVI end into the adapter.

I plug the VGA into the output of the adapter.

I plug the VGA of the output into my monitor.

Would that work? of the adapter I mentioned?
UntoldDreams

Hmmm... Possibly but not likely.

The problem is that the PS3 HDMI wants a protected connection (known as HDCP).
If the HDMI connection from the PS3 fails to find an HDCP connection it basically kills the signal.

However, this cheap $15 box claims to bypass the HDCP token but it doesn't say anything about fooling the source to believe its a true HDCP connection.

Yeah. I  think I will buy the neoya adapter, thanks.

Sorry my last post screwed up, here it is again.

Hello,

I have a Dell 20" Widescreen Monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050. I tried HDMI to DVI, but sadly that did not work on my monitor.

So My question is would this work?

If I connected my PS3 via HDMI to DVI to this
http://shorterlink.com/?8H1URB Then plugging a VGA to that adapter's out, and then the other end of the VGA cord into my monitor?

What would be the maximum resolution if it worked?

Please help, I want to exerforbidden>

Damnit! I set it up and exact same problem, only works in 480p, I guess its still better then 4:3 and 480i. Hey at least I got a newer monitor thats not dusty!, at no fee to me.

Its still alot better then my old tv, I guess i can use this until I can save up for an ultrasharp, or even a costco brand HDTV.

Thanks for all your help.
