I have a vga to s-video adapter but when i use it all i get on my screen is gray lines and static. My video card supports it (Radeon HD4650 1gig)but it seems i have no clue as to what im doing. any help?

Anyone know a program to mod or make different maps and levels for games? Iv been trying to make maps for fable TLC but have had no luck so far.If you know any programs i could get (hopefully free) That would help.

I also need to have recommendations for all the parts. Like how much ram and what to look for in motherboards and processors.

Honestly no brand is really recommended here because most everyone here builds their own PC's. Besides if you got a low quality pre-built desktop then the PSU and motherboard along with almost all the other components would be out of date. That would mean you would essentially need to rebuild the desktop anyway! :P So really think about trying to build one yourself.

Where would i start?

well that sucks. im 16 and already broke as it is. il just buy a used desktop and upgrade from there.

I am new to computers and have a acer aspire 5735 laptop. I need to know what i can upgrade to help it run GTA 4. My current rating is 3.5 Other than my graphics my lowest rating is 4.5 (ram) i already meet the games min. requirements but it lags really bad. I think a new video card would fix the problem. Im looking at the NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT. But i don't know anything so any advice would be appreciated.
