@DrizztDark Whats pathetic? If someone does something i dont agree with i wont agree more with it because they're maximizing their profit that way.

Without publishers game budgets would prolly have grown slower over the years. But i doubt people would have been complaining any more than they are now if all games where 3 years behind in graphics. You wouldnt have anything else to compare with it after all.

The parts of games that is hard to improve by throwing bigger budgets at it could very well have been alot better if there were no publishers.

Not that it matters. Like bankers and politicians we wont get rid of them. But we dont need to like them

@QingJao86 Not so sure. i liked Shenmue as well, but it was the most expensive game ever made when it was released and cost 47M USD in 1999! Kickstarter works better for smaller budget games. Shenmue would feel very different as a small budget game

I will not buy the next xbox if its always online as its obvious that its only for the benefit of publishers as well as making things a little worse for the gamers. There is nothing that can be done in games with always online that cant without.

However i hate when people go all up in arms when someone from a company speaks their mind. Everytime that happens we get a little closer to a world where the only thing you'll hear from them is generic PR bullshit.

Microsoft wont see the problem here as the always online concept. They'll see the problem as being an employee actually saying what they are all thinking
