[QUOTE="SwigGY12"]I didn't know that Zelda, Manhunt 2, Resident Evil 4 & UC, Metroid, Scarface, ETC. are family games :roll:SwigGY12

I rank Zelda as a family game; it's plot is comprable to something you might find in your local dollar store's children's literaturre section.

Resident Evil 4? ...-Strikes up the Jurassic Park Theme- ....Wheeeen Diiiinoooosaaaaurs, roamed the eaaaaarth dummm... laaaaa.... laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

Scarface? Grats, multiplat?

Manhunt 2? Sure. Enjoy a pointless murder simulation. I might be all for its right to be on the Wii, but I think the premise and the point of the game is absolutely stupid. Besides, there is an enormous outrage toward this game on behalf of the "family friendly" community.

Wow, I think your are the most bias person I have ever seen.

Bias? I'm probably one of the few people who are completely unbiased.

Cash cow is hungry!

Devs must be thinking, "Why take time to design new games, implement new and bold ideas, and experiment with gaming as a means of entertainment when these kids will buy anything with a franchise label or marketing icon pasted on the box, even if they've played it before, lol?

Mmmmm... things are unfolding slightly faster than I anticipated. Yes, friends, as I've informed you -- Wii is the greatest public enemy of free expression and meaningful gaming on the market. I'm not a Silent Hill fan, but this announcement was not a big surprise. See my blog post on the porportional decline of complex and meaningful games.

Get ready Nintendo fans, I hope you enjoy "family friendly" entertainment, or do not tire of the same 5 marketing icons being shoved down your throat once every couple of quarters.

You should see the recent article with some Ubisoft guy.  He mentioned how his company is going to increase Wii/DS development so that they can focus on "casual games".

Mmmm... Yes, friends, watch as Wii completely destroys the medium of gaming as a valid form of enterainment.  It will reduce the function of games to little more than a child's play thing, and sell us products that are so inferior that they aren't worth playing in the first place.

As I've said for months, we're starting down a slow and dark road... walking in the wrong direction.

"The game looks crisp in 1080p, but the frame rate chugs on quick changes of possession. On the other hand, if you're playing in 480i, the image quality is horrible but the frame rate is a steady 60 frames per second. The sweet spot seems to be at 720p, which runs smoothly while still featuring a lot of detail."

I've always said it... HDTV's are over rated!! Even your beloved gamespot is practically telling you! Why spend so much money on a HDTV thats 1080p when a game looks, and runs better on 720p? Regardless of what any of you think, HDTV's in general are useless (this is coming form a guy that has played 360 games on a normal TV and on an HDTV) when it comes to games because the difference is not great enough for me to go out and buy a new TV. I know im not alone on this one.

You're quite biased in your judgement if you have completely re-ordered the idea of visual quality to explain off the importance of something like 1080p.  I sure as hell can notice an enormous difference between 720 and 1080.  HDTV's are wonderful, especially the big-screens, and have forever changed the look of gaming (I own a 55" Sony 1080 WEGA -- got a great deal on it last year).

It's the franchise that never ends.  It keeps going on and on my friends.  Some people started playing it, not knowing what it was, and they'll keep on playing it -- just because it is the...

It's good Link doesn't have to think, utilize dialouge, or engage in any sort of moral complexity throughout his "endless" adventures through time.

Most video games are marketed around the demand of children or teenagers with very low intellectual standards.  Don't agree?  Why is so much violence and sexual content excluded from video games when the context and setting of the game justifies a paticular degree of violence?  Why are the marketing icons of Nintendo all "family-friendly" characters that lack depth, emotion, and meaning?  You seriously aren't trying to argue for the "Adult" premises contained in a game like Mario -- which dialouge is usually limited to "It'sa Me.  Mario," or a shallow, consequence-free, world like Zelda -- are marketed around the demands of adults?  I will agree with you that Nintendo, by FAR, is the company that is most guilty about creating worthless content for children -- Pokemon, Mario Bros, Zelda.

The PS3 is not much better off either, but at least Sony does not exploit a handful of worthless first-party marketing icons that artifically inflate the quality of games.

wii is a good system i just dont think nintendo should allow mh2 on its system. i cant explain my self the way i want to but its just manhunt is like this ultra violent game and i just never thought i would see nintend allow something like that on the wii.dcm06

Why?! WHY?!

Why should a company POLICE the intellectual freedom of  a developer to produce a product?  Why should a company act as nothing short of as a Thompson-fearing censor board that exists to do little more than shove subjective "morality" down the throat of free and adult consumers?  I am SICK of people trying to control this industry, and make it "family-friendly."  To hell with "family-friendly" games, and all the cult of parents that surround them.  Games are NOT JUST for little Jimmy.  Adults should be free to enjoy and have access to violent and sexual content in games.  I don't need "Big Brother Nintendo" citing flawed and childishly inspired morality from the arm chair.

Allow companies to produce anything they want.  I'm sick of kids dominating this market.  Don't like a game?  Don't buy it.  Gaming is not communist Russia.
