Removing resale value is not going to increase sales.

redskin Stu: It's not like travel between stars is something that is easy, or even detecting where it might be. (Radio signals would decay long before they reach even the next nearest star.)

As for DLC, meh. Wish it had been on disc, even at $10. I have a first off the shelf X-Box with a tight hard drive. Most of which is taken up by Halo maps and Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC.

And not one mention in the article about how the ending leaves you feeling like your first puppy just died. (Head over to Bioware's own message board, you'll see that's far and away the biggest complaint.) Though EAs DRM schemes are always an issue with PC users, most of the Mass Effect players are either on PS3 or X-Box. Gay romance wasn't an issue in Dragon Age, and they pushed that one via achievements. (Of course, Zevran was a fun flirt, and this game the guy is an emotional wreck.)

It's the same in a lot of businesses. Upper management sees workers as a disposable resource. IBM, Aldi's grocery stores, Verizon, and many others have all had to have shake ups to remind them that 'salary pay' =/= legal overtime exemption and 2x40 hour employees for the price of 1.

Video games should have the same restrictions as most other forms of media. In fact, the system is already in place. Self regulation is a good thing, and giving the existing body a penalty to levy against those retailers that refuse to make use of it isn't going to be the end of the world, any more than it became the end of the world for Wal-Mart to require age verifcation to sell an R-Rated movie.
