Particularly when they just got away with the stuff ... without having to do all that. On the other hand if you knew the security guards are going to put up a big fight.... maybe the criminal would feel they might need to up the ante and bring more than a knife to get the job done? Except said criminal would be in jail, and its usually pretty hard to commit mass murder from a dark, dank jail cell.
