A small correction: while Latin was the contemporary language of the Romans, German was not a language of the era - rather, the ancestor of all modern Germanic languages, a late form of Proto Germanic would have been spoken, and this language was as distant from modern German as Latin is from modern Italian or Spanish. This show is mostly in modern German, so it's not correct to call it a language of the era. The closest thing to what they spoke that is well attested is Gothic, of which we have extensive attestation beginning in the 4th century. Gothic differed minimally from the Proto Germanic of Arminius in the 1st century as shown by a handful of Runic inscriptions from that period. Here's a comparison of Gothic and Modern German:

Gothic: Atta unsar, thu in himinam, weihnai namo thein. Qimai thiudinassus theins. Waírþai wilja theins, swe in himina jah ana aírthai.

German: Vater unser, du in den Himmeln, erweihe sich der Name dein. Komme König-Reich dein. Werde Wille dein, wie in dem Himmel und auf Erden.

English: Our father, thou in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Come thy kingdom. Be done thy will, so in heaven as in earth.

In some ways German is a bit closer, in some ways English is a bit closer, but as you can see it's not the same language at all, and Gothic is already from 300+ years after the period we're talking about.

@nintendo_police @SoulScribe Except for the fact that the gameplay in this is pretty much revolutionary to the genre. As someone who hates COD, dislikes (for the most part) battlefield, and is unimpressed with Killzone, I can attest to that.
