The cost, oh the cost. My two boys and I love Lego but this game is sooooooo expensive. Based on the cheapest prices I've seen recent new games advertised the base game alone in 60-70% more expensive and each set costs way too much for what you get. Think we might stick to the traditional Lego games without toys to life thanks.
"Game becomes repetitive after 15 hours, and not much variety to support the late-game grind."
"Many quests are still taxing, with chore lists and boring objectives to complete"
How on earth can you give this expansion an 8 if the above apply. The expansion costs the same as the base game could be bought for on release and must of it while repetitive was still fairly new and enjoyable yet scored a 6.
"Level 40 within 15mins"
What a joke - you must have felt really satisfied with that amazing effort.
While I've had fun with my 192hrs of Destiny and the first two expansions, The Taken King is priced way too high, costing as much as I could have bought the base game for upon release in Australia (new releases can usually be had for $69 instead of the $99 RRP). It should have been released as a standalone game (Destiny 2) - it sounds like it wouldn't matter than you would lose your Year 1 progression as it's pretty much for nothing anyway - weapons are now under-powered/useless and you can level up so fast it's ridiculous. Destiny and the original expansion pass (Destiny 1) could have been left alone for people to play as it was as it sounds like there are lots of fans not willing to cough up the ridiculous asking price just yet.
Think I'll wait for the Legendary Edition to hit the bargain bin, buy it, throw away the vanilla and first 2 expansions and just keep the latest DLC.
Agree with others here, only needing 2 extra classes of vehicle to complete everything is a step in the right direction. The vehicles look like they need a specific Skylander to 'supercharge' them though which nearly doubles your initial cost. No doubt they will have videos galore to advertise all the new characters as well so your kids will still pester.
That said we might get this one as it looks pretty good and we skipped Trap Team and got Disney Infinity 2.0 instead.
Anyone looking for the experience of land, air and sea racing without the extra expense - Sonic Transformed is very popular with my two boys and everything is in-game, no extra purchase required.
