As for the picture she used - yeah it was a lazy comparison but is still correct. Political violence was fostered by hatred of the neighbour. In Germany the Jews were blamed for the countries ills and the same is now happening in the US with Republicans. Not on that scale granted, but it's starting and so is an apt simile.
