Sinister reasons or not, I said a while back after Carrie, Greg, and Rich left that if Jeff took off next I'd be done with the site. I find myself checking out Gametrailers and Kotaku a lot more now anyway as they seem to be a lot more constant with updates while GS has started to trail behind. Adios Gamespot!

Man, what a dumb broad..I would've chucked a roll of CD-R's at her head. My best friend is black and he loves Hack-n-Slash games and FPS games, do I think he's weird because of that? hah! no why the hell would I?

All this talk about how the PS3 is a pain to develop for, weren't developers saying the same thing about the PS2 early on too and then all of a sudden it wasn't a big deal after a year or so? Granted they are different machines but I know I've heard this complaint before. One rant I read from some ex-harmonix guy was that code that is used on the PS3 can't be recycled onto another platform "forcing" them to rewrite code for multi-platform games. I'm sure writing code is boring as hell but the dude seems like he's got more issues with the job not the hardware. I love my 360 and my PS3, so this isn't a forum fan boy issue. I just don't buy that the PS3 is as bad as some developers make it sound and that it's going to a permanent issue dooming all PS3 owners because I heard the same crap about the PS2 years ago.

I think it was on the last On The Spot where Jeff mentioned that a new game was gonna be announced on October 15th, didn't hear anything else regarding this announcement since so I'm curious if today is gonna be the day.

I'd advise you not to bother with FFXI or EQ2 in hopes of finding something to hold your interest more than WoW. If that game bores you to death then FFXI and EQ2 will do exactly the same but in shorter time.

I guess I should explain that when I think of a system seller I think of a game that the big wigs hype up over and over, milk the crap out of, secure the rights to, release some sort of edible or drinkable product that has the games protagonist posing like a bad ass half way across the label, and have MTV specials devoted to pretending they give two craps about whatever game they got paid millions of wing-wangs ($$$) to call it "totally awesome!!", like inside that shiney game disc contains a personalized voice mail from God telling you that you're his personal favorite human... *deep breath* I know Sony has never treated the MGS series like some lightweight franchise but I've also never got the impression that they personally thought it was their flagship game even though the trailers alone have always stolen the show again and again at conventions. I'm actually glad it doesn't get that kind of treatment, unless it does in Japan?

I wouldn't call it super long but I don't think it's short either. Heavenly Sword was a short game, Halo 3 was about average compared to most games these days. A better question would be..why was the ending so lame?

Who ever said it was a system seller? Big franchise? yes, huge fan base? definitely, but I've never seen MGS be the core title in terms of selling a system. Except for in my case that I didn't buy a PS2 til MGS2 was out and I wouldn't have bought a PS3 if MGS4 wasn't gonna be on it. So for me it WAS a system seller, as for in general disagree even though theres a grip of MGS fans out there.

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/10/12/assassins-creed-facing-problems-with-dvd-ps3-memory/ Seems to be having issues with both 360 DVD and PS3 Memory. Kinda late in the development to be having this issue no? Does this been it's gonna slip into 2008 to be better optimized?
