this game is the epitiome of racing sim

truly gorgeous, nothing to bash it on. its a billion dollar intellectual property. take that forza.

#1 Gran Turismo is not a Racing Simulator. It's a racing game.

#2 Forza is also not a Racing Simulator, but at the moment is "closer" to what one would call a Racing Sim than Gran Turismo.

You might want to look into LFS if you want a Racing Simulator.

As stated super early on in the thread. GT5 Prologue is impressive when it comes to car models AND I'll be able to use my G25 to play it (Eff you in the A on that slip up Microsoft), but other than that I'm sure the gameplay will be on the lower scale than Forza 2, but that's just speculation.

GT5P (Japanese account made and dled) does look prettier than Forza 2 AND it has in-car dash view, BUT Forza does have excellent gameplay.

Played back to back Forza 2 is more realistic where GT5P is still lacking in a few departments.

#1 Even at 90+ mph braking my car doesn't dip as much in the front as the cars in the GT5P demo.

#2 They STILL need to work on the sound, it's quite ridiculous in some cases.

#3 They STILL need to work on the AI, this is something that even Forza 1 is better than GT5P in.

GT5 isn't completely finished and I understand that there are issues that can be worked out before GT5 is actually released and I DO plan on playing GT5 with my G25 that MS won't give me any flippin support for, but I doubt that even with the advances that Polyphony has made that they'll be a smidge behind on the gameplay department. Not a fact at all, just pure speculation and personal opinion as I'm still at a loss as to how PD dropped the ball so bad with GT4.

2 Gaming PCs, 360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite and Slim PSP in this house.

The PCs get the most attention, I just found my Fallout disc, so I'm replaying through that. Wife plays WoW.

As far as consoles go we play the 360 the most mainly because all of my friends are on after work. The PS3 is for the wife and she's waiting on MGS 4, so no serious gaming on that system yet. The Wii gets used the second most because when we have friends over they want to play that.

The wife uses her DS Lite all the time, Pokemon addict and she can talk to her brother over the wireless connection half-way across the country.

I have the PSP in the glove box of my car just incase it's super slow at work and I have extra time on my hands. It honestly doesn't get used that often.

Well between the two, your network should be very secure :)xaos

With the amount of gaming that goes on in the house we don't need anyone else causing unwanted lag ;)

E-Bay or Craigslist is the best way to sell something. I prefer Craigslist as it's community based, but if it's not popular in your community, then sell it on E-Bay.

Ok, so my Elite is hardwired both gamins PCs are hardwired, the PS3 is wireless, as is the Wii and so is the wife's DS Lite, but I can't for the life of me get the PSP online.

I input the MAC ID for the PSP in my router settings and it just won't connect.

The router is a D-Link DIR 655.

Any suggestions?

This game is nothing like FFVII other then the same game world and characters. It is a prequel and not a remake or any other such thing. So I don't see how they are milking. Many game franchises have sequels or prequels... But hey that's your opinion. Personally I can't wait to get my hands on the US version, if they ever get off their rears and release some info already.NeoXPG

The fact of the matter is that Square-Enix keeps going back to the FF VII world because it's their cash cow. Hell, they even re-released Tactics on the PSP.

FF VII has a cult following. It's not a bad thing as FF VII is a GOOD game, but it's easy to market such spinoffs like Dirge of Cerberus and whatever the one about the Turks was along with a prequel to FF VII, to the largest crowd that Square-Enix has.....the FF VII addicts.

I'm not a FF VII addict as I started playing FF with FF ONE and I truley believe that VI is greater than VII, but that IS just my personal opinion.

Anything FF VII is easily marketable, especially to it's fanbase, for Square-Enix because they know that they're going to rake in some money. I suggest that game makers move forward with games instead of going back to Prequel Land. Release a book or something if you want to tell a story behind a game or it's characters. WoW does it, Halo does it, Doom did it, Starcraft did it.

SquEnix will get my attention when FF XIII is released. Until then I've got NEW games to play.

No thanks, I played FF VII TEN years ago when I was 16.

I'm not going to buy into something that Square-Enix is milking because they're slow on quality new material.

With the invent of Netflix and the cost of renting Blu-Ray movies being the same as DVD movies I do rent Blu-Ray when available.

Other than that, I do NOT purchase HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray movies at the moment. I will wait for a clear winner in the format war before I begin purchasing media.

Now that I think about it, I'd rather not purchase any movies with Netflix being around, I can rent, re-rent, and re-re-rent any movie available. There's not really a point of owning movie media any longer.
