Someone should just patent the right to provide services/goods to a customer for a sum of currency, then they could literally sue every business in existence. What, is THAT too broad?
Go **** yourselves BT, you're nothing but ridiculous cartoon villains.
This article needs to be updated. The game in question is an Early Access Steam game called 7 Days to Die, a sandbox zombie survival game that's been around (on Steam) since late 2013. Iron Galaxy is working with the devs of 7DtD to develop the console ports. Telltale is just publishing the console versions of the game. Source: http://7daystodie.com/7-days-coming-to-consoles/
@OwningXylophone: Yeah I know that now, someone above pointed it out. Very misleading article. This post was longer before and I was ragging on Ubisoft but I deleted most of it once I found out the writer left out that very important detail.
As I edited my comment here earlier to say, I still think it's silly that they expect players to play 25 hours per character, even if the 25k cost is only for the "post-release" operators later on. But thank god they at least aren't locking the core ones like Thermite etc. behind that massive grind/paywall.
@LonelyStep: I misunderstood big time, I can't believe the writer here left that vital piece of info out, that changes everything. Very misleading article to say the least. Thanks for clearing that up though!
I still think 25+ hours is pretty absurd to unlock operators, though. I know there are a lot of people that play games like CS:GO for 1000+ hours for instance, but the most I've played anything on Steam is like 250+ hours. I guess filthy casuals like me will just get left behind when the new operators come out. :P
Still kind of sucks, just a hell of a lot less than I thought it did.
Cosmetic MT's aren't too offensive to me, but the operators in this game aren't just for show, they're vital for playing an important role on your team because they have exclusive gadgets and weapons that "recruit" class doesn't have access to. Ubisoft has made it so hard to unlock them that players are practically forced to pay for them. 25 hours per character is NOT reasonable to unlock characters in a FULL-PRICED game. That's absurd, even if it is just for "post-release" operators.
@Mugzippit @Dem0nGam3r I'll concede they don't release a Mario game as often as a CoD game, obviously, but they appear to be getting cheaper and less original with each subsequent release, just like CoD. Copy and paste is what it feels like.
