Finally got around to playing Thief and as a big fan of the original games I have to say I found this one lacking in many areas. It looked amazing and the controls were fine. The story was just ok though and I felt like it ripped from the previous games too often and wasn't very imaginative on its own. There was also a very repetitive nature to the game that I found extremely annoying. Was it really necessary to have to push a beam out of the way every single time you squeeze through one of those narrow passages? Did we really need to pry open every window on both entry and exit? Actions that have to be repeated over and over like that lead to a feeling of tediousness that takes away from the experience instead of adding to it. The side missions in the game felt particularly lacking and were mostly very boring procedures. Break into the totally empty room, remove the object, and exit the room. Typically this could be accomplished without encountering a single enemy with no effort at all. There were some well thought out missions in the game but a number of them ended up feeling half completed. There is potential here but it has a long way to go to live up to the previous games in the series which is unfortunate. I feel this is a missed opportunity and although I enjoyed some of it, as a whole it's just an average gaming experience.

Is there anyway to watch the Gamespot videos on the PS4's browser. YouTube has YouTube/tv that makes it possible. Didn't know if there might be an HTML5 version of gamespot or some other way to get it to work. Anyone know?

Ok found them in a broken down house in the swamp on the way to the church. Also found a pair not too far past that point on a table and they are very obvious and hard to miss. Make sure you have your battery charged up or they will not work.

Not sure what system you are on but on the 360 you hold your weapon select button, Y by default, and then press left on the D pad to select grenades. To throw them tap the right shoulder button. Up on the D pad selects throwing knives. Down selects Claymore mines, and Right selects Incendiary grenades. Make sure you are holding the weapon select button because otherwise the D pad has other functions. Some of this can change slightly depending on the controller config you select in the options menu. If you look in the manual that came with the game it shows everything clearly there. The manual is very helpful for ranger mode.

Personally I feel it is very important to get the whole story so you know all that happened leading up to Last Light. Although it isn't necessary in order to enjoy Last Light, you would be missing out on a great game and a huge chunk of story.

Nothing like Fallout. Mostly linear. There's a tiny bit of exploration in a spot or two but that's it. There are merchants and scavenging for ammo, health kits, weapons, and gas mask filters but no leveling or skill trees.

I did. The switch is in a control room at the top of the cell block. I heard them being released but didn't notice anything else happening because of it.

If I hadn't preordered it would really tick me off. It's not a good decision to do this on their part as it is a game mode and not some misc rifle or outfit that you can do without. Ranger mode is simply a difficulty setting and that is something that should not be charged for.

Somewhere towards Venice in an enemy base I came across both an AK and a pump rifle with night vision sights on them. No goggles but the sights are extremely helpful in the dark tunnels.

It would be funny to know how many players leave Venice with no bullets.
