I love how in every thread that dares to mention VGChartz, mjarantilla is always in there posting not once but several times criticizing the site based on half-baked assumptions instead of actual information. If you read the threads without reading the poster names you'd think everyone hated VGChartz yet it's really just him making all of those posts. Did they steal your lollipop?

thegame1980 - You're a terrible liar. You really expect people to believe that with the Wii outselling other systems 2:1 or 3:1 most months that the retailers are still buying 5 times as many of the other systems -- buying 50 a week when they only sell 5-6 a week. That's a stupid claim to try and make. Then to try and make yourself somehow more believable you claim to own a Wii that you'd sell for $100 but for some mysterious reason you can't. Right. Between DS and Wii Nintendo is far and away producing more systems than they ever planned to be able to and it blows the other two companies completely out of the water, and you're calling it an artificial supply restriction? Get real.

Not only is there no PSP on the list either, but no one has even mentioned it, shows you how relevant that system is.

It's a Sims game with an actual point to it, I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

Whenever you read a financial report (or a press release/news story based on one) there are two terms: Shipped = out of the factory and on the way somewhere, to a warehouse or distributor or wholesaler, whatever. Sold = sold to retailers and could be on store shelves, in store warehouses, on the way there, or actually in consumer's hands. Sony changing their accounting method does not change the numbers. As of the end of March this year they'd already reported shipping 5.5 million PS3's (and sold to retailers about 3.5 million of those). As of the end of September this year they'd finally sold them all to retailers, and stopped providing "shipment" numbers. That six-month lag is the important thing to take away from this. The reason they stopped giving shipped numbers is because they're producing a huge number of PS3's that the retailers aren't buying. You can get that information from their inventory figures, and it's also a reason why they're posting huge losses.

God you guys have so little clue about financial statement numbers that continuously get tossed around. 4.48 million = PS3's sold worldwide to retailers as of June 30, 2007. 5.5 million = PS3's shipped from their factories as of March 31, 2007. ~3.5 million = PS3's sold worldwide to retailers as of March 31, 2007 (I'm too lazy to look up the actual amount in the report last quarter). They didn't give any shipment figures this time because they didn't make any more 'cause they already over-shipped to try and get close to their 6M goal last quarter and didn't want to admit it. For god's sake don't ever invest in anything if you can't understand what companies are actually talking about. This is as bad as the 10.4 million "sold" by MS by the end of last year (yet only 500,000 "sold" worldwide for the next three month despite NPD numbers alone being higher than that total). If you really can't figure it out then there's just no helping you and well I guess you belong here. :p

Nyko or one of those people released some kind of palm-support attachment for the CC.

Zelda is not the biggest DS game of the year in Japan by far. That honor goes hands-down to Dragon Quest IX.

Going to .5 is great 'cause the reviewers were basically incapable of accurately rating a game to within 0.1 anyway. And replacing the component scores with medals is even better 'cause now instead of having a score fixed by its five components there's an even more detailed breakdown (60 medals he said, lots better than 5 components that can only be 1-10) and yet the score isn't constrained by medals or lack thereof. The reviews aren't for SW, they're for people who want to know if a game is any good or not. The ability to rate a game purely on its overall quality is key to that, with the addition of the medals to further refine the score instead of an extra useless decimal place.
