I was looking for the Digg article to see what had been said about this in light of the not-so-surprising revelation that this was nothing more than a lame AFD gag, but the story was deleted.

I'm disappointed, because so many people were quick to jump on the Nintendo hate bandwagon, and anyone who dared to suggest that this was a joke was Dugg down for it. I love nothing more than to see incrediblys stupid people be forced to eat crow, but rather than address the error that was made when he chose to post the information, the guy who did so just got rid of it outright in order to avoid the fallout. Oh well.

Yeah, I don't believe this for a second. Why? Because it's a little odd that with all the sites out there with Wii in their name, something that is a stronger basis on which to claim copyright infringment, we're to believe that Nintendo is freaking out over a site that uses Friend Codes in its name while leaving those afformentioned sites alone?

Given how close to April 1st we are, and that Nintendo has never bothered with any of these sites (Check this story on Digg, where a guy who owns two Wii-centric web-sites for some time chimes in on how he's never recieved any sort of ceace-and-desist letter from Nintendo...), it's readily apparent that this is the biggest load of April Fool's related BS ever.
