@ miserable247365 To be fair, Code Veronica doesn't exactly require d-pad precision, what with the tank controls and whatnot. :P Personally, I found playing games on the 360 that relied on the d-pad to be an exercise in frustration. It was mainly due to its uncomfortable placement, but I'd find myself pressing right only to end up ducking, for example. Things that should have come easily were made more difficult, and it's always frustrating to me when mechanical issues undermine my skill. Yeah, I could eventually train myself to get used to using it for the most part, but I had to keep myself acutely aware of the d-pad in order to compensate for its short-comings. That's just no fun. To my mind, a well-designed controller becomes an extension of your hands during gameplay. You shouldn't be aware that it's even there after awhile, much less have to constantly check yourself against it to make sure that you're properly compensating for any design flaws it may have. So no, I don't think that the author is to blame, I think that it really the equipment after all. And as far as I'm concerned, if it can't even solve the sole mechanical issue I have with the otherwise comfortable 360 controller, I won't be buying one. What's the point, especially at that price-point?
