@Suaron_xNintendo banks on having great games which they do. If you think they're not selling because of the gamepad, then you are really narrow minded. They do have a normal controller. You talk of the gamepad as if that's the only way to play the games. If you want to stick to the old Xbox/PS style controllers, you have that option on Wii U.

That said, the gamepad is the best controller I've ever used on a console. It's a shame people who have never used it blindly slam it. Not you, per se, but I have seen a lot of people online admit they've never used it and say how bad it is. It's completely ridiculous the amount of misinformation that people spread about the console.

Who cares if Kinect "blows Nintendo's motion controller out of the water"? Kinect and motion controls are a gimmick no matter who sells it. Most, if not all mainstream games are played with joysticks and buttons, so it's really a moot point anyway. Besides, Kinect motion control still sucks for anything that requires detailed and precise controls.

@amallica12 Wii U does have a normal controller you know, and what makes a console "solid" and "standard"? Nintendo proves over and over that power does not = great games. The Wii U is powerful enough anyway with great HD graphics, so what else could you want in that regard? Even if Nintendo makes a console that's more powerful than the other consoles, developers would still shun Nintendo because of any lame excuse they can think of, i.e. "Nintendo doesn't sell well so we won't make games for it, which is why Nintendo doesn't sell well, so we won't make games for it, which..."

@k41m They had some very violent games at the release. Call of Duty, Ninja Gaiden 3, Assassin's Creed III and ZombieU are about as bad as it gets for violence. The problem is all of the misinformation that people spread about the system and the idiots that listen without thought.

@r2d245 The controller is what makes the system so awesome. The fact that you hate it doesn't mean anything. Everyone who owns and loves their Wii U, absolutely loves the controller. It's pretty much the best controller out there right now in terms of comfort, weight and functionality. I personally spend hours playing with it and it's great.

I agree with you on the PC which is why all of my gaming is on PC, Wii U and 3DS. You can't beat Nintendo for first party games.

The controller feels great and is a good size, built specifically for gaming in mind with physical controls. The same can't be said for any mobile device. The fact that mobile devices aren't optimized to communicate with the gaming console like the Wii U gamepad makes the Wii U even more appealing for second screen play.

For PS4 and Xbox One, it's called the "second screen concept", but for Nintendo it's just a "gimmick"...

Not to mention they can't depend on anyone actually having a second screen for these other systems. Sure, a lot of people have tablets and smartphones, but you can't make an integral feature of a game utilize an optional, expensive, peripheral that's not included with the system. Developers for Nintendo, on the other hand, can do exactly that.

Isn't that basically what the 3DS does? I know it has one screen and physically shows half of the resolution to each eye with a splitter built into the screen.

It's nice to see them finally admit something that's been true for all console iterations. Nintendo fans have been saying this for years and it's especially true now that the hardware has basically levelled out between all of the systems. The only arguments that matter for or against any system are about the games and innovative features and Nintendo has always been king in that regard. It's too bad so many people have fallen into the typical shooter, racer, insert other big seller black hole thinking they play the most fun games on the planet and don't even know how fun other types of games are.

The arguments about tech specs have always been a joke to PC gamers anyway since consoles are always behind the times and fall even further back after they're released.

@Daian @jon_bone

Actually, the other consoles aren't full HD. The Wii U is full 1080p, not some upscaled conversion like the 360 and PS3.
