@soltar: To be fair, the man makes money off his artistry so he can't fall into the 'one who writes' category. If you are being paid for your service you are a professional.
@Chr0noid: I agree they do not do as much as those on development and I also agree that development teams are treated on a lower level. On the monetary side, 4 bonus checks seems reasonable taking into the account that (im assuming) the percentage is not large (if it's stated somewhere I apologize for not seeing it). I'm more on board with them getting rest during vocally demanding parts as damaging your voice can obviously lead to problems for the actor and client. Also a stunt coordinator on set almost seems like a no brainer. What I'm saying at the end of this is that the demands (maybe except the money issue depending on exactly how much) make sense.
@balrogbane: Wow. You really think so? I'm sure developers will be SOOOO amused when a bunch of people who can't do the right accent, can't take direction, don't know how to safely use there voice, and can't act for crap show up to "Replace" those actors who have invested time and effort into their craft.
I really hope most people realize that voice work requires more effort and work than people think. If you honestly think any Joe Schmoe can walk in and vocally construct a character with little to no training/know how you're very mistaken. I applaud them for standing up and asking for what sounds like reasonable things.
@stormcloud29: To be fair voice actors are still actors. Many on screen actors consider Voice acting as challenging as onscreen as there is less to go with and for most performances ones face isn't mocapped. Of course the developers deserve more royalties however the actors should get something as well
