[QUOTE="WalterPaladines"]Bigger sales does not equal a better product. Lemmings are using the sales card now, after they criticized the Sheep? I think fear is getting to them. Imo Gamestop sucks, I will never buy or sell a game there ever again. They always charge full price and will rip you off when buying your games. I use to work at a Gamestop for a short amount of time, and the place is full of 360 fanboys, all they do is bash the PS3.MightyMuna

just because you only got 1.25$ for your used copy of Madden 2005 doesnt mean its not the best place to buy videogames. Do you not like saving a few bucks and buying used games?  u dont like buy 1 get one free sales?  have fun at best buy kid..

This has nothing to do with lemmings and sheep and other farmhouse animals.  this has to do with REALITY.  THE REALITY IS, PSP is DEAD.  PS3 is DEAD LAST.

Thats the truth so far for this holiday season.  LBP doesnt sell...mgs4 came and went..... meanwhile people want gears 2, codwaw, l4d,  and they want to play all their games on a system thats cheaper, and delivers better graphics for multiplats, and has better online.

thats all there is to it. casual gamers/misinformed people dont know, what console has better graphics, what console has better online, all they see is that both consoles share most games, just that one is cheaper than the other.

Yes and the point is.  the console with better graphics, the console with better online, the console with more games, IS THE CHEAPER CONSOLE.

people who want a videogame system understand this, that they are buying a videogame console, NOT a movie player!!!!!!!

PERFECT EXAMPLE..

A customer comes in the store owning neither a ps3 or a 360

for xmas they want to buy and set up Guitar Hero World Tour.

the game is 190$

they can either spend 490$ on it for a 360 or 590$ for a ps3.  Then i tell them how you dont need to buy any cables for ur hd tv so u can save another 50$.

Done deal   360-1  ps3-0

its not that its JUST the price.  Working at a Gamestop, all my customers are interested in videogames. not necessarily blu-ray movies.

With a larger game library

 vastily superior online

Backwards compatibility

Mics and wires all included

AND a price of about half

the xbox 360 delivers MORE of what GAMERS want for a CHEAPER price.

Its not just price.  Its the value aspect.

MightyMuna

like you said "CHEAPER price" only people who have done their research, will know about XBL/PSN service, what games are available to download, what has backwards compatibility, etc. Fathers, Mothers or casual gamers who don't do research, people who are less informed, if they walk into to a store and both 360 and PS3 are the same price, the probability of them picking a PS3 will be higher than 360.

perhaps. but is your best counterargument to what i am telling you is really happening in the real world.  a hypothetical situation where u can buy a ps3 for 200$ that includes a microphone and hd cables?  are u telling me that?  Thats not reality.... thats your imagination

I work at Gamestop, and I sell videogame consoles all day.  It is SO much easier for me to sell an Xbox 360 than a ps3.  It doesnt matter if its a college kid, a teenager, or a grandmother looking for a gift for their grandson, I sell about 8 or 9 360s to every 1 ps3.

Reasons?  Well its better duh...

 1.  Its so much easier on the customer to hear that the xbox 360 is 200-400$ rather than 400-500$  **ECONOMIC RECESSION**

2. The game library on the 360 is about 5 times as large as on the ps3.  USED GAMES ANYONE?

3. ZERO backwards compat. on all ps3 models that are currently in production.

4. More downloadable game content on 360 ( Game add-ons, arcade games).

5. Infinately better online multiplayer service.  4$ a month to a customer when they buy a 300$ console instead of a 500 or 400$ console is justifyiable.

6. No need to go out and buy extra headsets, hdmi cables, etc etc etc.

7. Microsoft 1 year warranty, and 3 year warranty for RROD

8. Jasper

The fact of the matter is that superfluous things like an unneccisarily large harddrive, or a blu-ray player DO NOT.  ARE NOT. WILL NOT. be selling points to an overpriced system where you will wait 2-5 years for the game you want to play.

Outside of gamespot here where fanboys of the ps3 choose an ignorant bliss, they just dont want to accept that their console DOES NOT SELL this holiday.

There is no debate to this, all the Gamestops in my district are reporting the same thing with xbox 360 PWN1NG the Ps3.

Only sony can take something like the undisputed number one console (PS2), and become the UNDISPUTED last place console (PS3)

What are you talking about with "NXE is flooded with advertisement"?    Now that I thought about it the real adverstisements I got use to seeing with the old XBL are gone.  And I'm talking about advertisement like T-Mobile, Doritos, Sprite, etc. and I believe the advertisement you're talking about are advertisement for games and Xbox 360 community events.  :|

But I have a feeling Home will suffer the most with advertisements since you are going to be walking around a virtual world kinda like Second Life where advertisement are welcome.  Also what's wrong with seeing advertisement for upcoming games or games in stores now  in your gaming system?  And it's not like you can't just pop in your game and play.  Noone is forcing you to look around NXE or walk around Home.

ReverseCycology

I understand exactly what you mean and that is the exact logic I am using in my head that makes this situation tolerable for me.  However i still feel like advertisements and clutter and gimmicks and just "things" are being thrown at me unwillingly.  I just wish that these systems would offer me a minimalist menu system just offering me the core criteria that i want to use the machine for.  I dont want to see the next time when gamerchix are going to pla GeoW2 or things like that.  It just upsets me that the community environment is trying to force itself into my gaming experience when i dont want to participate in it or be informed in it at all.

I am wondering if anyone feels as I do.  Both the x360 with NXE and ps3 with Home are introducing aspects of commercialized social networking to game.

I am emphasizing the commercialization aspect of both consoles and what they are doing.. For ps3 it started with the ticker in the corner of the screeen, informing you of new releases and things to buy.  Now the nxe is flooded and i mean flooded with billboard advertisements of primetime gaming and other advertisements.  Home no doubt (especially because its free) will run massive advertisement campaigns.

All of these things throw more advertisements and commercials at me and invade my gaming experience.  Yes its true that these advertisements sometimes inform me of new things coming out but im sure that neither of us want pepsi and t-mobile logos all over our consoles.  The gaming market has gotten so big over this generation i guess its inevitable that it is a new advertising hot spot.

NXE right now, and soon Home also create social aspects that allude to purchasing unnecessary content?  Im not going to want to buy a sofa for my home appt. nor will i want to buy a t shirt for my avatar.

they are turning each game console into an exclusive clubhouse, and trying to make as much money as possible from it.

I do not like it at all.

how do you guys feel about this?

Hey guys! i just got a new graphics card for my aging computer, except for the p4 processor its pretty sweet now.

Finally able to play rts games again i picked up Command and Conquer red alert 3. I set all the graphics on ultra high and everything is running smoothe and high.

i didnt touch the anti aliasing because i dont know what that is. its on 2x right now... i put it up to 8x and it definately slowed things down but i didnt really see a visual difference.

anyway, what does it do?

Thanks.

obama ftw!
