@terrascythe I agree with most of what you just stated. Drug testing is a great topic to bring up. Advertising is also a great thing to bring up. But, I do not believe calling it Major League is pretentious at all. Like stated in this article above, millions tune in to watch this stuff and it is the highest form of competition when it comes to gaming..thus "major league." A sport is simply a game that is taken to the next level, every sport is at most a game and a culture what does professional gaming lack? Things as such as poker is broadcasted on T.V. and personally I feel watching some of these games would be much more entertaining, during and after the actual broadcast. I don't doubt that this will blow up in our near future and it will fit perfectly with the future era. But like every professional sport, it will have to hit a few bumps. Football didn't always have helmets and drug test, basketballs weren't always capable of bouncing. and I'm sure, like gaming, they were found to be pretentious at first as well.
I'm really surprised to see this. I really appreciate this gamespot. Insight into the reviewing process was for sure needed for some. The gaming industry is a confusing one. BRINK was in desperate need of a Beta but I guess I won't expect much from a MP title that doesn't have one, especially new IP's,
