Just like last generation but flip-flopped. Last gen Sony was arrogant after the PS2's success and tried to use their notoriety to push Blu-Ray, a proprietary processor, etc. They failed and Microsoft picked up their slack with the 360. This gen Sony was humbled and appears to be giving the gamers what they want again, while Microsoft thinks that consumers will be loyal no matter what BS stunts they pull. lol Microsoft, Xbox One has already failed miserably, good luck digging yourselves out of this one!!!

AlexTaldren - Actually I hated Halo 1 and 2. They were the most overrated games in years. I decided to get Halo 3 because I figured I would get $60 of online fun out of it. At first, I wasn't impressed, thinking that it played just like Halo 2. However, it grew on me, and I must say that it is one of the best games I have played in a long time, in terms of polish and all-around fun, single-player and multi-player. Give it a shot and PLAY THE GAME before you go talking all this smack like you have beaten it 5 times on legendary already. EDIT: I have to agree with you, however, that it is not "revolutionary", nor was any Halo game ever revolutionary.

Alexp987- great comment. You broke it down objectively, and spoke the truth. The only reason I was hating on superman was because he was calling that other guy a fanboy, and he was being an even bigger fanboy himself. If you are going to refute someone else's statement, you look like and idiot if you just say that they are wrong and you're right. You have to support your argument (like Alexp987) and then you don't look like a retarded fanboy.

xxSupermanSGSxx - you should listen to yourself- obviously you are a PC fanboy. I'm sorry that Halo 3 is better than any PC FPS you have played in years, and slamming it is the only way that you don't feel like you wasted $5k on your PC with 2 processors and 2 graphics cards that will be obsolete in 6 months...and Crysis won't run on it.... Stop being a fanboy about the issue and realize that your PC wasn't worth all that money.

My theory is that, for the next 2-3 years, most games are going to be released on both 360 and ps3, and the graphics will be exactly the same on both systems. The main advantage of having a PS3 comes with owning a 1080p TV, and considering my 2 year old 720p 50" lcd projection still looks pretty good compared to the 1080p tv's, I don't plan on buying a new 1080p tv any time soon. Of course I will be really jealous when games like Metal Gear and F1 (which looks amazing- a first for F1 fans) and all the other awesome Sony games come out. But I'll be happy with my 360 and my Wii (ebgames preordered) for at least a couple of years I think. Maybe I'll buy a PS3 when it's $400 for the 60gb, but I think that really depends on the software library- especially exclusive which, as of right now, Sony is lacking support of because of their egotistical approach to the PS3. I think the success of the system depends on the success of blu-ray, and if it is price that determines which of the formats succeeds and which fails, hd-dvd has the advantage right now. I honestly have a feeling that 360 is going to be more popular than PS3 for a while; and PS3's long-term success depends on variables such as the bluray-hddvd war and how many people are actually willing to shell out $600-1000 or more for a console, games and accessories when it launches. I guess I am just feeling like if the ps2-xbox battle was a predictor of anything, it has been reversed this time, and sony is going to be playing catch-up with a console they plan to have a life of 10 years, when microsoft will probably develop a new system that is 20x better than PS3 in 4-5 years. We'll see how everything pans out, but I have a feeling that Microsoft has a much smarter marketing plan this time around. One more thing- if Wii catches on like I'm expecting it to, that is just another MAJOR obstacle in the road to success for the PS3. (Wii + 360 = $550-650, PS3 = $500-600) ... in my opinion two is better than one!

No one mentioned Rise of Nations (and the Thornes and Patriots expansion). This was one of my favorite RTS's ever, and runs fine on my laptop with built-in graphics. I also play Diablo 2 and Starcraft on it.
