My experience of 'XCOM - Enemy Within' so far on PS3:
Frame-rate lag Screen tearing Failing to load next sequence (black screen) Saves corrupt in Ironman mode which effectively ends play-through Icons failing to load (Replaced with randomised red/blue/green pixels) Game freezes my system (Hard reset needed) Severe texture pop-in Excessive load times
I am yet to finish a single play through due to bugs and glitches in this game. Firaxis have developed a game that is worse to play than Skyrim with its many documented problems on the PS3. I haven't seen a single review take this into account?
A pencil without an eraser makes words harder to correct.
A more powerful/larger/faster car makes a drunk driver even more dangerous.
A larger spoon makes it easier for Rosie to get fatter, quicker.
A gun makes it easier to kill more people than any other tool such as a knife etc. An unnecessary tool such as a military assault rifle with a high capacity clip is like Rosie using a bilge pump to eat ice cream.
What is wrong with violence for the sake of violence? If I choose as an adult to enjoy that, why does it matter? If the writer of the article wants a story for added context good for him. But he cannot dictate that all others should follow his personal preferences. That is what people blaming games for real world violence are doing.

Do I have the option to take on one of my friends sitting right next to me on the couch, or is split screen once again ignored because 'pretty' is better than 'fun'?

It is made with about 12 service men on staff, who helped write the story for the single player experience and had input on how the mechanics are implemented as well as how they are portrayed. A section of fighting men and women also play these games in their down time overseas. Your moral objection to the content doesn't matter to them. I could only imagine they would find your objection with their chosen method of sharing their experience, confusing.
