Meh, non-gaming sources are generally ****ing awful when it comes to these types of "OMG look at how cool *Game X* is" type articles. I bet you could give a copy of NFS: Shift to Road & Track, Forza 3 to Car and Driver and GTR 2 to Top Gear and they'd all write essentially the same thing.

Top gear tells the truth lol

They gave similar praise to FM3 before release and in the review :P Are they still credible? :Pnavyguy21
Sure motor trend is a OG in the car review biz. If they say gt5 is rubbish and egm says it great I am going with motor trend they know cars. They said forza 3 was good and it was.

I hear all this crap from random guys in a forum but now the experts have spoken. Even a certain game reviewer who's name I won't say needs to shut up and listen to the pro's nuff said.

Yeah motor trend wtf do they know lol they only test every car on the planet for a living and race as well. Nah they have no clue how cars drive in real life. I think I should take some video game guys word over theirs

Wii games have a high standard to live up to. You see that gold seal of quality on the games right, uh wait they took that away. There goes that theory uh I will go with the games are lacking in online features yeah that is it !!

Oh there is also the whole graphics/sound thing also and the motion controller does not work well for all types of games.

Forza's physics aren't great, they're decent. Rfactor's physics are great. And before you call me an elitist, I just played Forza 3 for about 4 hours last night. To me, the tuning and car choice in Forza outweighs some unrealistic handling. Back on topic, I don't think GT5 will have sim level physics, but I do expect it to be realistic enough to not be distracting. I used to think Forza was a sim until I tried playing Rfactor, GTR2, and other real sims with an Xbox 360 controller. It isn't possible because a real car cannot be controlled with a controller. Even though wheels work well on Forza and GT, the game is designed around the controller because at least 90% of players use it.

You hit it on the head console sims are made with a controller as the primary input. So games like forza 3 and gt5 use aids to keep unskilled playes from flying intro the grass. A real sim would not sell on console cause most console gamers would get frustrated after doing well in forza/gt and sucking in a real sim. I hope the aids in gt5 can be turned all the way off unlike forza 3 and have the leaderboards reflect that in the times.
