3d graphics are essentially the same. There are no cheap tricks to do, except texture compression with various methods. And the method of real time rendering by the 3d engine of the same game, is the same on all platforms.
You are trying to sugar-coat the fact that a 7 year old console run the same game with better frame rates than a modern pc (unless if the pc has a 350$ gpu which cost as an PS4 more or less (note here that i DONT LIKE consoles), and the graphics have BARELY any difference.
So you take the conversation into the territory "you don't know how hardware works". I dont have to prove nothing to you man.

I dont disagree. But how Evil Within is next gen? Because it exists on PS3 also. So?
And as i said before, the "next gen" label doesn't mean nothing if the game doesn't live up to the expectations.

Next gen is pure horseshit if it doesnt live up to the expectations. Sorry for the profanity but, i dont care if Evil Within is "next gen" and Metro is not, because Metro L.L. has BETTER graphics too!
So in the bottom line, what matters is what you see on screen.
And SLI should give better performance in the same situations. So IF SLI worked, the game would have been playable.

PC has been abandoned by developers. They dont even care to write proper code anymore, instead they dont optimize nothing and tell you "well we are shitty in coding, so we will use 4gb of texture data" and you go and upgrade. But for the same game consoles use just 250mb of texture data, and it works. Αnd you can hardly can see the difference. And if you do, its because you have a GTX 780 or an 970 with lots of vram and you can max out the game. A card which you bought 500 euros since your previous gtx 670 that you bought about 1 year ago, just is not enough. And console gamers are laughing to us playing with a PS3 the SAME game. Where you disagree exactly?

The distance between "decent" and "mediocre" in my opinion, is very close.
Now, you are telling me that when i said "mediocrity in gaming" was actually... my opinion? What else could have been? A fact? Do you people think before you type? Seriously... You think because i 've used plural, i meant.. all of you?

P.S. My "old" gpu's run Alien Isolation maxed out in 60fps with 70% load on each card.
Crysis 3 maxed out also. Metro Last light high settings. All those games run perfectly with more than 35-40 fps. If my hardware wasn't capable of runing modern games i would have upgraded. But i WONT do it because some developers are lazy to optimize. One card run the game with 22-28 fps. With SLI working i would have had around 40's which is perfectly acceptable. The vram has to do with resolution, textures and pixel or shader effects (A/A for example). They can make it scalable IF they want. They just don't.

You are teaching me how sli works? Geee.. thanks!
Do consoles like PS3 have more vram? Because PS3 has 512mb of total ram. 256mb + 256mb. But it plays the game with almost the same fidelity. It must have been a miracle of some sort!!!!!!!
Are we serious?????????????? Come one lets cut the crap, okay? PC's can use RAM texturing like consoles do with unified vram architecture. The whole "use 6gb of vram to see the exact graphics as an PS3" is RIDICULUS. If you want to go and buy a card with 8gb because developers are bored to programm correctly, it's your choice. But dont give me shit about the 1gb of vram.

If sli worked, my "old" 450's would be very sufficient. Because i can run Crysis 3, Metro last light, and other demanding games in much better frame rates (40-45's) which is much more demanding game.

My cards would be "old" if they couldn't play modern games, but i can.
So the problem is not my cards are old, but that the game is poorly written. I dont like being "pushed" to upgrade for no reason. Do you get me?

P.S. As about the frame cap, in case you didn't noticed, even gamers with R9's have fluctuations in frame rate. The game is poorly written !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder why we continue to accept such mediocrity in gaming nowadays.

And someone must mention also the fact that the game is unplayable in less then interstellar pc's (GTS 450 sli here with AMD FX 8350). I dont understand, companies expect us to spend 300-400 euros reguraly to upgrade the gpu's when consoles 7 years ago play the game with quite a good quality? And to upgrade for what? To see almost the same level of graphics a 7 year old console is capable?

And the game it is not optimized for pc's in my opinion. The frame rate is not constant even in capable pc's. And it's totally unplayable for me, because it doesn't utilize SLI since it's an idtech5 engine game.
P.S. In the same system i can play Alien Isolation maxed out.

RSM i think you give too much credit to the game. Yes, certainly Isolation is a well made and a good game but it has many flaws. Like for example backtracking at later stages, repeatitive gameplay, too much focus on stealth and nothing more beyond that, etc.
A little bit more action would be preferable. I dont know how it could have been implemented but i think the main gameplay after 4-5 hours becomes boring (okay that last sentence was obviously my opinion and not stated as a fact).

The artwork though and the environment..... my GOD is so awesome. I think Isolation is a great effort, and shows promise as a franchise. Especially if any sequel is based on the 2nd film ALIENS (which feels totaly logical to me).

P.S. And i personally think AvP 1 & 2 by Rebellion were GREAT games. Especially the marine campaigns.

Cheers. :)
