im thinking the same thing i wanted a xbiox for xmas but after reading this thread i dont really want one they sound like they break pretty easy? what do you guys mean by red rings? is there any1 who has owned a xbox for over 6 months and have had no problems with it?Sinerster

My launch 360 just died last Thursday (12/7/06).  I think most of the problems revolve around the units built in 05 and early to mid 06.  Dealing with the repair line was pretty painless...and I'm assuming they will save themselves a bit of time and just send me a new one (hopefully).  I wouldn't let threads like this discourage you at all.  Its a great system that is just running into some early hardware issues a la PS2.
