I wanted two NES Classics (and two extra controllers). One to play, one as a unopened collectible. Never got them. I was mildly interested in the SNES Classic. The irony is I landed two SNES Classics both by chance. One was on Amazon as an unannounced lighting deal and the other I just happened to check GameStop's site and they too had them unannounced on sale.

Nintendo has always played this artificial scarcity since the 80s. Older folks like me remember trying to buy SMB2, SMB3, and Zelda 2 (or rent for those who went that route). It took weeks (months in some cases) to get a copy. They did it with the Wii (then suddenly a year later stores were amply stocked). They did it with the Switch (for a time).

This is what Nintendo does. Expect nothing less.

The story, characters, voice acting, and use of music are simply top tier quality. It's just a shame all this great stuff is suffocated by repetitive, boring gameplay (excluding some missions).

The DLC is just meh overall. The new outfits are cool though.

This is the mentality of Nintendo for 30 years: Increase hype by constricting supply.

SMB2, SMB3, Wii, NES Classic, and Switch when it comes out most assuredly.

The NES Classic is an emulator in a plastic case. Cheap and easy to produce in mass quantities.

It's 2016 but Nintendo wants to operate like it's still 1986. For them to change course operationally, to them, is a fate worse than death (irrelevancy).

I'll wait until Season 3 is complete and goes on sale for half off. They did that with Season 2, so I can wait. Tired of this prepay-for-content model gaming is moving to.

@asmoddeuss: As far as I know PC version got most if not all DLC except KP2.

I'm sorry you're still sore about the PC version but lesson learned, hopefully. I always avoided the PC versions of any game for this reason among others.

I've been playing MK since 1992 and seen it all...good, bad, ugly, hideous. MK X is a beautiful game to look at and listen to (when you have a great sound system). Story Mode changed the fighting game genre when NRS did it with MK vs DC. The fighting engine has always been mediocre at best, but no fighter will ever be perfect.

What concerns me is this "paid beta testing" mentality gaming has now. KI has "seasons" a over the last 3 years and needed more patches than a pirate convention. SF5 is a hot mess you can pay $60 for now and get the coming content "free".

At least MK X out of the gate had far more to offer for the money and they gave away lots of free content (skins and added free Brutalities, Fatalities, and The Pit stage). DLC is what it is and is always optional.

When you try to please everyone, you please no one.

@jonnybrownieboy: Killer Instinct had that jail system where RQers were matched with other RQers for 24 hours but did away with it to be "more inclusive". Now any disconnect regardless of cause (server issues, RQ, poor connection) simply awards a loss to the disconnector and a win to the other player.

Gamers have to understand we are here to test and QA games for developers. We can't expect games to be complete and functioning on release and after they get our money. SFV is no different.
