I not really liking this anymore than anyone else, but guys there is a logical reason why they are doing this. When you make a game have online co-op and the online play is exactly like the single player play, basically the SAME exact code is used in the offline play. Given this code you get cheaters/hackers/bots who find exploits in the source code thus ruining the game for everyone. This sucks as it does alienate a minority whom do not have any access to atleast a DSL connection. However, it would be impractical to make an entire single player source code, then an entire mulitplayer source code that are practically the same game.

Let look at this objectively, what did they not do to ruin the game:

  1. They did not have first day Release DLC
  2. They are not charging you play the game online, nor are they making BS micro-transactions.
  3. They did not release a half-game (like Mass Effect) where you actually BEAT the game in a DLC.
  4. They fixed servers issues with in 24 hours, rarity believe it or not.
  5. They made the skills system accessible while maintaining diversity complexity.
  6. They made the item system was more complex unlike other games that take away. (IE skyrim, Dragon Age, Mass Effect)
  7. Item crafting and customization is against most games out their today, way more complex.

That is to name a few off the top of my head, but seriously guys no everygame will be perfect. As a advocate against the mainstreaming of video games. Hell I wrote a paper literally exposing publishers illegal business practices, horrible employee treatment and finally manipulation of copy right laws so they can keep the IPs from the developers. I know first hand the reasons why yall hate them. I also express concern that Blizzard may fully succumb to the shareholder bottom line, that video games are a product not a medium of art and entertainment. However, all the rage here is not completely unwarranted but the extremism is very unwarranted. I hope this clarifies some things, also please stand up for developer rights over thier IPs and end the publishers tyrannic reign!

As an avid Diablo 1-2 player, the system in DII was very flawed, you basically put points into a skill/attribute and it had very little effect in game unless you put in atleast 5 or greater. Also, you can still add attributes to the game int he from of crystals and they literally act the same way. Diablo 3 is no where near casual friendly, while it is easy to catch on you have to work at it inorder to fully unlock the potiental of your character. FYI casual fide ame is Skyrim.
