@roboccs: You could be right, and as of right now there is speculation of paid expansions being added.

@garywood69: Oh it is, if I read right it is 50 miles squared (as big as GTA V).

@garywood69: I don't know. Not saying it's not, but those land masses are enormous. But I can only go off of what I see so time will tell.

So, we seen the direct which gave us a look at the entire world of Xenoblade Chronicles X, the question is though (since scale is out the window because of how huge everything is), how big is Xenoblade X.

Well, it's supposed to be around 5x as large as Xenoblade Chronicles right? and there are five continents correct? So it could be assumed as of right now that each continent is roughly the size of the entire land area of Xenoblade Chronicles.

To also get a little small idea of how massive it actually is, remember the treehouse footage at E3? Being most of the cutscenes were skipped (and I will even take off 12 minutes of the run time to make sure any and all time wasted is counted for) I marked the area traveled in the treehouse based on what was shown on the mini map against the map of the land.

Given that, we know it takes roughly a half hour to explore two hexagons worth of space.

I got to say, this is pretty impressive in size. Note that the city itself is around three hexagons in size. making for one truly MASSIVE city.

My hopes for things we will see in the direct:

Shulk amiibo functionality that unlocks Shulk himself, the Monado, or Shulk avatar options.

Online hunts that will unlock special armor.

Customizable mechs (at least to a certain degree)

The character having a voice in the game OUTSIDE of battle (he does have a voice actor, they should go the extra step).

If they don't have all of these I don't care, but here's hoping they hit one or two of these.
