Gran Turismo is better. They are both better than Grid. The Forza / GT argument is pointless because........

You seem to merely have a problem with the difficulty. You are talking to someone that has finished the game, and if you had read my review, you would understand that difficulty is not the issue. Cheap deaths I have an issue with. Invisible bosses that can slay you in three hits, I have a problem with. Not because I could not defeat them, but because it was needless. I expect an RPG to have a story, to have a narrative that encompases the universe in which the player is to spend countless hours. It is a simple thing, but one that is absolutely, 100% required for a game to immerse the player. Dark Souls fails in such a spectacular way to deliver this. The game has amased such a level of elitist fanboyism that I know I am wasting my breath. It's cool to defend a game that is percieved as hard. But at the end of the day, it was a 7.5 game. It did somethings really, really well. But it has it's failings. It is not this super amazing game most people make it out to be.Dark souls uses (obviously) trial and error, it is a design choice that requires a patient, attentive player mindset (and you seem to think this is a strange design choice?)... If you disregard things that you learned while dying, you will die again. It is essentially a learning experience in it's entirety, you will be learning through out the entire game, even after your second playthrough. I can imagine some (or maybe most idk) players experiencing some frustration upon dying, but this is obviously because the player has failed to adapt to the game's entire meaning... Dark Souls is a challenge, nothing more, nothing less.
You cannot expect a full blown, generic RPG from something like this... It does not require story for a story is needless, it does not require checkpoints before bosses because such checkpoints are needless. My point is, you learn by dying, once you have learned, and paid attention (which I'm sure you did) you will be able to defeat anything in the game... It won't give you anything that you will take for granted. A lot of people call it cheap, well the same can be said about casual games, they give you all the tools beforehand and let you safely float about, that is cheap, not gradually learning from punishment and conquering things you were once scared of.
