@BassMan: Now that is something we can agree upon. Although I saw on Giant Bomb some sort of You Tube/Gamespot interlaping video player. It was weird. But funny
@BassMan: Look, just remember that it still needs hardware that is build for it. Nothing is ever good the first time around. You can talk about Gears and Tomb Raider all year long. It's still too early. All I will say is, if you discard Dx12 and refuse to play games that run it, you won't play a lot of games. And I don't wish that for anybody
@BassMan: That may be for Nvidia cards. I haven't found what you just quoted. "Nvidia has the edge on DX11 performance while AMD has on the edge on DX12. That's because of the AMD's support of the ASYNC, while Nvidia is reluctant on it. ASYNC may improve performance up to 46 percent." That was the conclusion. Overall, it needs drivers and graphic card support. Like any API.
@BassMan: QB doesn't have frame rate dips. It has solid framerate, and 720p resolution debate is overblown. It is one of the most beautiful looking games. DX 12 isn't a gamemaker, only a tool. Game score has nothing to do with it. If that were the case than Aliens Colonial Marines' buggy and glitchy performance were to be Epic's fault. They made the engine it's running on. Gearbox and Sega made the game. Look I don't care about this game. Not my thing. I'm not gonna mention different scores it got on different sites. But blaming an API for it, seems unfair.
@BassMan: Quantum Break runs great on Xone (which runs on DX12) Tomb Raider was one of the best games of the year, Fable was cancelled, and has nothing to do with graphics. Gears Pc issues are with UWP. Watch Digital Foundry video of this game and see the performance difference between DX 11 and 12.
And also what part of "A technical marvel" part of this review did you miss?
@TheZeroPercent Agreed. But usually critics and users see eye to eye on games like COD, and now it's hugely divided. It's interesting. Feedbackula will be happy. It's Beyond:Two Souls all over again hah :)
