[QUOTE="Sora311"]i disagree... what two years for the next one they hinted that they might add it in. personally the game is better left alone but that whole 5% that played it online must be catered to i guess.PdIZZLE-PS3

see now thats the thing they are done with the game so the resources are not being taken away from it along with the fact that not ps3 had online standard the numbers are a lot higher for online gaming and if they released it for a small price then they could even make money.

So, when they finished R&C:ToD they decided to pack up and go on vacation? I doubt they have any resources right now. I bet they are working on another game as we speak. I thought multiplayer for ratchet was a boring idea. It didn't make sense. Ratchet will, and always should be a single player game. It rocks at that. Why add more fluff just for the sake of it. Doesn't make any sense.

My ps3 is the dust right now.Something went wrong when i tried connection it to the hdtv big screen in my living room then i tried connecting back to the one in my room and i cant see a damn thing except that i can hear sound.gusnitro

When you power up your ps3, keep your finger on the power button for a couple seconds until you hear another beep. The ps3 will then redetect your video and you should be fine.

Ok, so today I took a bit of a break to play Crysis, BUT, I managed to BEAT R&C! Now I can't wait to play again! I have not played a better looking game ever (ona console at least:)). The weapons are really awesome. The character animation is absolutely great! There are really only twoerrors whichstood out to me. There was a point where the camera freaked ot while I was on the Kerchu planet fighting the boss, which I couldn't recover from and died. When I was on that second planet, the one with all the gross centipedes I managed to fall through the ground twice when I was smashing boxes (inside the rooms). These are just bugs though. In terms of how I would rate the game. I'd say it deserves a 9.5. Not a perfect 10 because there were some things that I found to be just OK when compared to the masterpiece that is the rest of the game.

Things I Loved:

Graphics (best I've seen on any console)

Gameplay (feels like the old ratchet games. which is GREAT!, I felt it was just as hard as the old games too. Easy? hmmpf)

Weapons (brand new weapons with cool effects and lots of kick!)

Animations (the character animations are so smooth!)

Humor (I love the cheezy jokes!)

Story (just like watching a cartoon, great!)

Music (the themed music is wonderful)

Thing(s) That Could Have Been Left Out:

Spaceship battles (beautiful graphics, but yawn yawn boring ZzzzZzzzz...)

To give this game a 7.5 doesn't make any sense. :( I don't remember having this much fun playing a game in over a year.

really!? but its like 2 years old =\

cz if i cant play starcraft II on it, then i would have to consider between a Windows based PC with a good video card which would cost much more than a Macbook, and also not run some Mac applications that im interested in.

thank you for your reply!

Arcanefelix

one of my compturs is a very similar rig. It actually has an X800 in it. I can run Warcraft III 1600x1200 no problem without any hiccup. I'm assuming starcraft 2 will do just fine as well.

There is a nice sized Wikipedia on this subject that explains what it is and how to achieve it. PC games isn't the forum to ask this question anyways. You would have gotten a better result in the form of an answer if you asked in the PC Hardware forum.

To answer your question in the most basic of terms would be this. Overclocking is something that is done to hardware to make that piece of hardware work faster in a sense. It ups its performance while at the same time shortens its lifespan.

So, if you want a faster CPU you can overclock it, but it will have a shorter lifespan then it would have had, had you kept it at stock speeds.

cos_vanquish

for some reason I got a chuckle when reading this.. this is totally off topic but... When were were talking about overclocking vs. lifespan, I could help but remember this quote from Blade Runner.

"The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long and you have burned so very brightly Roy."

anyways, I'm a dork. bye bye.

Hey, just wondering how was everyone able to read their fps for the game? Is there some sort of command prompt needed or something? I just did the quick install if there is some extra attachment to the game I didnt know about. Its running decently on High at 1024x768 with 3 gig pentium D, 3 gigs RAM, 7800 gtx. Gets laggy occasionally when enemies fire. Just curious about the actual fps though.HaloDude101

I just sorta guessed at mine. It's definitely not 60fps for me, but it's over 30fps. lol.

I forgot to add how insane it looks now. omg. When I move the mouse there is a full screen motion blur. There is a tortoise right at the beginning of the demo and I just spent about 2 minutes staring at it. haha..I'm off togo play the demo over again with all these nice settings. I can't believe it was just AA sheesh.

An update to my old post:

I wanted to give Crysis another go because I really did like the demo. What I realized (silly me) is that with everything set to high it didn't matter (game would run great). It was the fact that I had set the AA really high before which killed me. with AA off I can run with everything high at about 50-60fps. I'm a happy girl. I was really starting to wonder if my "supercomputer" wasn't really that super :).

in case no one wants to scroll back to see my specs:

Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz (6600)

GeForce 8800gtx (768mb w/ PCI Express x16)

2 Gigs RAM

M-Audio FireWire-410 (no sound blaster for this chick)
