Not even slightly, happily buying a PS4 at launch. Sure there are only a few games that are of interest to me (Resogun, Killzone, watchdogs and maybe ACIV) but I know it's the only console this gen i'll buy and will simply play my PS3 between game releases as I still have loads to play on that.

sounds good will do.. what does turn based mean?delectabledoz
Like chess where you get a turn then the enemy does and the game stops between turns. Tales are action RPGs that have battles more like an action game with everything happening at once kind of like god of war but with RPG moves, magic and items etc.

If they intend to release a game that lacks content & technology they shouldn't charge full price for it. But then again, as you kinda prove, their next game could be the exact game of Disgaea 4 but with a reskinned main character and all the disgaea fans would probably defend it to death.

xWoW_Rougex

People put hundreds of hours into Disgaea, I don't know how you can say they lack content.

Seriously? I'd love to hear how many of those hours are going through the random generated battles over and over and over (or just grinding replaying missions).

The content it lacks, I have already covered that; animated cutscenes, things other than battling, only a tiny town, barely any new added mechanics & gameplay (except combat tweaks) after four games (and one generation leap) etc... It does have content but more specifically it has the same content it had in the first franchise, they're just using the same old content but with some tweaks here and there. There is no reason (aside from the story which tends to play out the same way anyhow) to pay full price for a new Disgaea game.

I suppose a decent comparison regarding tweaking & changing content would be Valkyria Chronicles 1 & 2, where they went from the "book system" (VC1) to the "schoolyard menu" (VC2). In comparison to Disgaea 1 which had its tiny little town with npcs and Disgaea 4 which also features a tiny tiny town with the same kind of npcs (except with different names & background picture).

I guess it's about time we stop this though, we are clearly seeing this from completeeeely different. I'll say it once again though; if Disgaea ever wants me to purchase their games again they have to put effort and add or replace things with new content. Just adding some small new mechanic to the battle system isn't enough.

I kind of agree with you on that front. The original Shining Force series had whole towns to explore, I don't see why Disgaea can't put more effort in if they are going to have one available to walk around. I am not too worried about this news as while the series is ok it's really missing on many factors for me.

Finally tried the demo, never played Heavy Rain as I loathed the demo but actually enjoyed Beyond Two Souls. I still hated the controls though they were better for sure (camera was pretty dodgy when moving around) but the characters, Aiden and action were all pretty interesting. Think i'll get it if I can get the cash together.

I can't read all that info.

There isn't a wall there....

Ignore him, he's just trolling.

Anyhere, an interesting interview with Cerny recently popped up on the Neogaf. Has some footage of Knack. He admits that Knack isn't a game which is trying to be revolutionary, he's trying to make a fun game which fills a niche, same as he and his cocreators tried to do with Crash Bandicoot.

He talks about how he hopes that the PS4's ease of development and digital distribution will help smaller teams flourish, making games that can sell just 20K copies and still be profitable. He also talks about how indie development nowadays isn't the same as console or arcade development decades ago. Back then the single guy needed to get greenlit because arcade units cost $3000 so companies didn't want to be saddled with a weird game they couldn't sell, but indie developers have no bosses, take all the risks and thus are free to try whatever.

I'm wavering on Knack but I do like the fact that giant Knack can pick up cars and throw them at enemies (show in a brief video clip).

I'm not sold on Knack enough to pick it up at launch. I saw it running at Eurogamer though I didn't play it, it looks decent but as he says nothing revolutionary. I will most likely play it once the price drops.

[QUOTE="GodModeEnabled"]Everyone here should play Hotline Miami, one of the best indie games I have ever played. Challenging (but not too much), addictive and insane this game will make you feel dirty and gross just for playing it. Also it has an amazing soundtrack.

I actually felt the opposite. I love indie games but by god I hated HM in every way. I found it frustrating, boring with terrible pc port controls. I agree on the soundtrack however :)

Over my Dead Body 2 Looks really nice. I'm finally getting a Vita at Christmas. Already have Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Little King's Story. Going to pick up Persona, Soul Sacrifice and possibly Ragnarok to start with.

[QUOTE="dvader654"][QUOTE="lancea34"]Well they can't just make Jodie die, you know? This is supposed to be an interactive movie, so that means no game over screens. If Jodie were to die, that would be pretty much a game over. You can't continue the story if the protagonist dies. I agree that the game made like this, sounds like it could be played by itself. They should have reworked that part a bit like... I don't know; scars or bruises that you could keep for the rest of the story and have the characters ask about them, maybe even discovering new things regarding the story and/or characters? lol, I should be a game designer. :P

Dying would be fine as you simply replay the segment like in every game ever.

I'm with you. Taking away the risk and challenge just makes playing kind of rewardless in my eyes.
