@iX-gamer: The worst part of the movie was the whole movie itself. James (I like to touch little boys) Gunn is one of the most unoriginal "directors" out there.
Hey genius. Satirizing and joking about rape and pedophilia doesn't automatically make that person a pedo and/or rapist. If that were the case Hannibal Burress would have been cancelled after the Cosby rape joke the day he brought it up. And spoiler alert: Gunn has apologized countless times in regards to those jokes when they hired him to do GotG.
@illegal_peanut: exactly take Blade Runner as another example. The original version that Sir Ridley wanted to release back in 82, the producers didn't said no, so they forced Ridley to shoot a "happy ending" and provide a cheesy narration throughout the whole film. THX-1138 was also an example of studio interference, WB at that time wasn't satisified with Lucas' original film and they just took the film right behind his back, recutted it without his approval and released it anyways.
Fair comment from Kojima. The existence of a "Director's Cut" implies that the director was dissatisfied in some way with the version that was originally released.
I recall Ridley Scott making a similar point when Fox asked him to put together an extended version of "Alien" for the 2003 Alien Quadrilogy box-set. He wasn't keen on the extended version being referred to as a "Director's Cut" for exactly the same reason, saying that as far as he was concerned the "Director's Cut" of that film was the one that released in cinemas in 1979. They went ahead and called it a "Director's Cut" anyway :)
I recall Sir Ridley saying something similiar to that when he introduced the Extended Cut of Gladiator when it was released on DVD and Blu-Ray and stated that the Extended Edition wasn't a Director's Cut.
@Lord_Sesshy: Let's not forget that the #MeToo movement were pissed about Amber's actions of using their platform for her own gain and even they believed that Depp was the victim, not Heard.
@justthetip: I agree with you there on Bumblebee. I think Paramount should start getting more directors like Travis Knight who not only grew up with Transformers, but also understand the mythos behind them. Although Bay isn't directing which is good, he is still credited as a Producer. I've been familiar with Caple, Jr. because of Creed II, all I can say about that is, let's see how it turns out.
