I hope so. An easy game wouldn't be a Megaman game at all.

Well, it wouldn't hurt to have some Megaman Legend games on XLA, I would gladly buy them if they added HD support. Anyway, I don't think it will happen. I hoped to see the first six Megaman games on the Wii's VC (since they appeared originally for the NES), but nope, not even a single one of them has made it to the virtual console, so I can't see a reason for them to make those games available for Xbox live Arcade either. I wonder if Capcom doesn't release them digitally in order to make people buy their compilations (Megaman Anniversary Collection and Megaman X Collection).

At first I also thought they shouldn't use the same old sprite from the NES games, but after watching the video I stopped complaining about it. To be honest I never liked the sprite used in Megaman 7, the one used in MM8 was fine, but the best for me was the one that appeared in the Marvel vs. Capcom games. The thing is that for some reason they are trying to preserve the old style that made the character famous back in the 80's, maybe that is what makes MM9 a true sequel to the classic Megaman games.

Megaman Legends was the most strange of all Megaman versions. The artwork was awesome and the music was incredibly fun, as well as the story and the bad guys (the Bonne family), the only thing I didn't like about them was the clumsy control method. It got a bit better in The misadventures of Tron Bonne and Megaman Legends 2, but still, if they were to make a New Megaman Legends title they really should pay more attention to deliver a more intuitive and flexible control scheme. But even though, there was much to be liked in this series. I loved the little servbot guys, police officer Denisse was charming, Teasel Bonne, Glyde, Roll Casquet and her granpa... yeah, also I crave for a Megaman Legends sequel, but until Capcom decides to produce it, I'll be eagerly waiting for Megaman 9.

When I heard Capcom was going to release it I was like "Meh, just another bad game with the name Megaman on it", but then I saw a video, and just looking at it and hearing it made me happy, it's just incredible that they decided to produce a game like this one.

Check here http://www.wiiware-world.com/games/wiiware/mega_man_9, and yeah, it's a Wii site, but the game will be also released on Xbox Live Arcade.

The only bad thing about this is that there is no release date, yet.

My favourite is Tales of Destiny, even if it's a bit old now. In the most recent games characters tend to be annoying, I don't know if it is the voice acting or something else, but guys like Genis, Colette or Loyd are unbearable to me.

Button mashing won't take you anywhere in any of those games, both of them require practice and strategy in different ways. I would go for DOA4, it's faster, prettier and a bit more intuitive than VF5. And you can buy it for a lower price, so you can get SC4 soon. :P

I prefer the original. Besides, I wouldn't like to have that green tin-man on my dashboard.

Yeah, Xbox Live ARCADE might not be the most appropriate name they could use to refer to their service. I mean, when I read that ARCADE thing I also thought of some af my fave arcade games, X-Men Children of the Atom, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Marvel Super Heroes, Prehistoric Isle, Strider, Sunsetriders, TMNT, Moonwalker, Space Harrier and many more. I never imagined that the store would be full of things like Carcassone, or Monopoly, or Texas Hold'em or Uno...

I actually have acquired some nice games at Xbox Live arcade, like Contra, Ikaruga, Triggerheart Exelica, TMNT, UMK3, Double Dragon, Golden Axe and others, but it would be great if MS could come up with more REAL ARCADE classics. Someone said before that old games are not as fun as we remember them to be, but I strongly disagree. I still can play my NES games and get fun out of them, and a lot of times I find them a lot more enjoyable than some of the current gen games, so I don't see why some people think old arcade games could have lost their magic through the years. Those old titles were all about simple and challenging fun, not about technology or gameplay complexity.

Yeah, and soon after the announce of KI3, the guys from Rare will show a playable version of a new Battletoads game. Dreaming again. All recent Rare games heve been kind of a let down, they better keep KI in the chest of fond memories. I prefer to replay the old games than playing a new and bad sequel. About Eternal Champions and Destrega, well, I never liked those.

There are going to be some fighting game releases, but I don't think that's enough to call this one the year of the fighters. Street fighter IV and Soul Calibur IV are the most prominent ones for me. Others like Battle Fantasia and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix or KOF are also attractive, but let's face it, fighters are not as popular these days as they used to be back in the 90's.

This generation's standard genre is FPS, and don't think I like them, but we should be realistic: fighting games are now a niche specific genre. We'll see sequels of the franchises we know and love (Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, King of fighters and hopefully Dead or Alive), but to give this year the "Fighter Year" title we would need to have a lot of new IP's on the horizon... and, sadly, we won't.

I really share your enthusiasm about some of the fighting games that will be released this year, though.
