"Working on a lot of new titles." Yeah, right. A studio that used to release 1 new game every few years or so. And that was before they wrecked the Ninja Gaiden series with the last game. Releases have been even further apart since then.

That's interesting. Gamespot's affiliate link actually redirected my to the German store this time. And there of course it still costs around 40€.

Hint: if you're talking about price reductions in specific stores like Amazon's US version, then you shouldn't be posting international affilitate links that lead you to a random page with a very different price.

That actually makes sense because NPCs were still dumb as a brick, especially when driving in the GTA games. Their only reaction is really to honk the horn if you block the road. And to crash into you and try to get away if you commit a crime or do anything else to scare them.

@DarkCaptain3: I don't see why you'd offer a separate full game download if the only difference lies in a dlc map pack but whatever floats their boat. It is nothing but a dlc by definition and Hitman 3 already contains all the maps of all games in its install size, so all you get there if you buy one of the map packs for the earlier games is an unlock key.

@DarkCaptain3: You seem to forget though that there's myriad of online stores selling PC games out there. People like to pretend as if Steam was the official PC game store but it's not. All they have is a monopoly that they've built by doing some things right and maybe being the first on the market. Generally speaking unless you have only ever bought all of your games you should never be taking things like a game taking any earlier purchases you've made for granted. It does work that way on the console stores but that's because there is no alternative there. But poor PC guys, having other competitors out there who don't all like to work together. If only Steam was the only option available. Then everyone could just put up with whatever they decide and be happy.

@DarkCaptain3: So why would they choose not to offer the first 2 games up on Epic's platform? Those games are still available for sale on other platforms like Steam, are they not?

@mrbojangles25: You can call it whatever you want but the way it works on consoles is that you have start the first game and download the map pack for the second game through that, then you can play the maps in that game. You need to own the first game to get those maps for free. But it would make no sense to have to buy those games when all you need are the maps, which is why they're selling them as dlc. And with how crappy this whole system works and that it doesn't simply recognize that you already own the game, even on consoles where the digital purchase is tied to your account, that's the only way to do it.

@skyhighgam3r: Even big publishers find it difficult to turn such an offer down. But ultimately if the consumer has to pay the same price it shouldn't really make a difference. It only does because so many folks just want Steam to keep their monopoly so they're free to do whatever they want. Normally competition is great. But here people act like it's the cancer ruining the whole industry. I guess that's what happens if people become too emotionally attached to something.

@mrbojangles25: You didn't play the Hitman games, did you? It's a dlc pack that gives you access to the old maps from the other games. You don't need to buy the old games themselves, though if you do own them already you can download that map pack for free. And as they're giving it away now, whether you own the game on Steam already or not is no longer relevant.
