...players are able to surpass what they have done, simply with mods? Let's take for example TES: Oblivion and Crysis.

In Bethesda's RPG, players have released numerous mods that enhance the visuals, notably by adding sun glare, doubling the textures' resolution, or improving spell effects.

Crytek's critically aclaimed FPS has known a significant improvement in the visual department, merely with edited notepad files. By changing a digit here and there, vast ameliorations have been made: Take a look at these screenshots with mods

Should developpers feel ashamed, or on the other hand, feel proud of the gaming community?

My guess is GS evaluated Halo Wars according to its hype and high expectations (probably because it takes on the Halo franchise name).

I don't know if most gaming sites follow this method, but in the case of Gamespot for example, the credibility of a lot of reviews depends on the reviewer. This is why when one relies on reviews to purchase a game or not, he should take in account the reviews of multiple sites.

Most gamers care about Gamespot, Gametrailers, and IGN for reviews. That doesn't mean other sites are bad: they are just less well-known.

Gametrailers just reviewed it. They gave it a 9.2, lower than Halo 3. Man is this dissapointing...

Resistance just has an acardey feel to it, adding to its recipe some bland and unsatisfying action. The story telling in Resistance didn't impress me at all, therefore never giving me a sense of epicness from the game.

GS is not late at all. There's still a month to go.

I'm gonna wait for GS and GT. Especially GT because they know how to make convincing video reviews (without a guy standing there talking for a whole minute before any actual footage). I was seriously expecting more than 9.4 though...

IGN gave 9.5 on graphics, whereas 10 for Gears 2 and GTA4 counterparts. That's bull****. Official reviews are too unstable because of the different likings of each reviewer.
