show me a link that says this is a clearance model with limited supplies? this is Toshiba's entry-level HD-DVD player, the successor to the A1. It's critically acclaimed and is only priced to move now because the A3 is in town. There is no reaon to assume stock won't be replinished soon. whether it'll be available under $100 at that time is anyone's guess, however.

Oh and you were right The A2 is a decent player I will give you.

A3 will be on sale for $179 this fall. thats the regular price.

true fanboy comment. 1080i for $99 is much betther than $500 for minor improvment you cannot see. if you don't have HD-dvd use it as an upconverting dvd player. there are dvd players that are more expensive.

at $99 price point, blu-ray is in deep trouble.
