This isn't anything new. Even the PS3 allowed keyboard and mouse support for Unreal Tournament years ago. It's been up to the developers if they wanted to support the control style in their games.

@de-astroturfer Sadly, I agree. I actually think you'll see the Xbox One bundled in some cable TV packages. Pay an additional $XX per month and get the Xbox on lease.

I think it's pretty clear by now that the reaction gamers had to the original Xbox One announcement is only seen as a small speed bump to Microsoft. They'll bravely forge ahead with what they planned all along anyways, once they think people aren't paying close enough attention or they already have a sufficient install base.

Maybe you have different human eyes than I do, but I can easily tell when I switch things from 720P and 1080P. Especially if there is no AA turned on.

There also are quite a number of series that people like now on consoles that got their start on PCs. Like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and The Witcher for instance. It's not only that the games that are on the PC usually have better graphics, but they have thriving modding communities and some of the developers give PC players the downloadable content for free.
