there is no real reason to pre-order. Now if you plan on purchasing something on the release date at EB or Gamestop, they usually order just enough to fill their pre-orders. I saw a forum saying the employees actually need to make enough pre-orders and magazine subscriptions to maintain their jobs, adding to the game store's evil. Just buy your games at Walmart or target :)

if it's only the faceplate you can order one here http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/zz-psp-facep or search around, lots of places have em. there's also replacement LCD screens if that's the problem. instructions on how to replace them can be found in a google search.

ok so I've read that a bunch of people are having the same problems regarding the controller loosing connection and having a mind of its own for 2-3 seconds. My problem is that I have an older model that has the PS2/PS chip thats more backwards compatible than the newer, and less effective emulation chip. So I'm hesitant on sending it in for repair knowing I'll get a replacement with an emulation chip. I may be able to just ride it out till' I can buy and replace the bluetooth device. But I haven't seen any online, only guides on how I would disassemble the PS3 and take the BT out. Please help me out if you know of any sites that carry BT replacements or if you have any solutions, or thoughts about the difference in the chips. Thanks. ---Airik

I would say get the 80G. only for the simple fact that it has newer internal components such as some "improvements" on the bluetooth. myself and a lot of others have had some issues with the bluetooth controllers loosing connection for 3-4 seconds which is a real game killer. I haven't read any posts complaining about the 80G model. as far as backwards compatibility I really don't think they would release a newer version that would play any more/less old games compared to the 60G. If there is a compatibility issue I'm sure it's nothing an update wouldn't fix.
