[QUOTE="AgentH"][QUOTE="treelog82"][QUOTE="AgentH"][QUOTE="hhttppp"] stealth in MGS4 is wayyyyyy better than it ever was in previous MGS games.
Why do you always act as if MGS2 doesn't exist? That was the only MGS game truly developed from the ground up with stealth in mind for almost every sequence. Everything from the level design, to the enemy AI, to the gameplay mechanics was developed soley for stealth. You got punished dearly for mis steps like not hiding bodies, taking out guards that are supposed to report every so often, carrying the wrong weapon when disguised, leaving a blood trail, footprints, sneezing, disturbing objects in the environment. Even the enemy search procedures and room clearings made you have to be more creative with your methods of evasion.
Not to mention you are put in many more stealth scenarios than just simply get from point a to point b without getting spotted. Blending with soldiers while remaining covert in order to grab a soldier and take him to the retinal scanner. Finding Ames among the hostages without blowing your cover. Escorting Emma without getting her killed. Diffuse bombs without being seen. Sneaking past rooms full of marines and taking pics of Ray from each side without getting seen. Running through Arsenal Gear with literally nothing!
Action my friend. ACTIONin MGS4 is wayyyy better than the previous MGS games. The stealth is a cake walk and doesn't really add to what the series already had to offer. You can lay right out in the open thanks to Octocamo and there is never a shortage of silenced weapons. Knowing how to manipulate the enemy AI, use your surroundings, and make due with what items you have has no where near the amount of importance it had in MGS2 or even MGS3 for that matter. The stealth in MGS4 is neither challenging, nor intricate.
Please man, most of this board looks at you as the MGS go to guy, but you post a lot of inaccurate statements and make us MGS fans look bad. Think before you post.

Dude, you're kidding right? Take a chill pill first. The things you could in MGS4 in terms of stealth are gigantic comparing to MGS2. Sure MGS2 settings were meant for stealth action more but in the battlefield, stealth is very useful too. Man you won't understand what I mean until I post my full playthrough showcasing "Stealth" in MGS4. Plz just be patient and bare with me.
Dude you aren't the only one in the world that has torn MGS4 to shreds. I seriously doubt there's anything you know about the gameplay that a million others don't.
Give me one example of a mind blowing stealth trick that most of us wouldn't know about by now lol. Everybody and there mom can be great at MGS4. Its not as deep as you seem to think XD.
They're not tricks. Just skills. No wonders, just not run and gun, and not just sneak behind and cqc them to death or just tranquilizing them. Can't explain with words. Words won't do justice. Videos is the answer. To begin with, the Octo Camo is my favorite feature or add-on to the MGS games. What I want to do is make people fall in love with stealth instead of just running and gunning. I just want to show them how far they could go when stealth is chosen. You know much like every Metal Gear fan does that stealth >>> run and gun in MGS games. However, many tends to choose the bad choice which is running and gunning which ruins the fun of the game. I want to showcase to them everything and the many possibilities they could do in terms of stealth. My aim is to spread the idea of using stealth much more often than run & gun in MGS4.
I'm pretty sure everyone already knows that MGS is meant to be played as a stealth game first. Also, it's quite obvious that when you say stealth, you mean avoiding using lethal weapons, non lethal weapons, cqc, and never raising your suspicion to alert... People understand EXACTLY what you're trying to say.
Well I'm going to stop here and let my videos judge. Just understand that new gamers to the saga don't quite know what I mean and I want to make sure they get the message clear. It's for their own benefit in the end, I'm doing this for them because I care and I want everybody to fully enjoy MGS4 and play it the way it's meant to be played, that's all I want. My work will be dedicated for Metal Gear fans.
